Although I am a seasoned professional, I found this book extremely informative if you want to learn the absolute basics of hacking. I can definitely recommend this to anyone, beginner or professional.

El libro es corto y básico. Qué no te engañe el titulo, en sí es un libro que te da de forma rápida y clara los fundamentos para usar Linux. Si bien trae un poco sobre seguridad, escaneo de redes, bash y Python, NO llega a enseñar nada de HACKING como tal. Le doy 5 estrellas porque, lo que tarde días aprendiendo en el libro "Linux Bible", con este lo vi en minutos y quedó claro. Obvio, no con el mismo nivel de detalle y ejemplos, pero a fin de cuentas queda claro. Yo usaría este libro como una guía rápida para novatos en Linux, o como manual de mano para los que llevamos tiempo con Linux pero aún así necesitamos ayuda de vez en cuando.

This is a gem. The author is obviously someone who can translate geek talk to normal english. The format of the book is practical and easy to follow along. Concepts are explained along the way, understandable and relatable. For someone who is easily bored with boring theory, this had me totally engaged.

It's like a guided tour to Linux with some light talk about hacking. The book is fun and light, suitable for people who are new to Linux, or those who worked with Linux before but have no idea what and why. Very well narrated and fun to read, each chapter is short enough for you to not feel intimidated. One thing to note is that you won't be a hacker after this book, or have a deep understanding of how Linux work. The title says "Linux Basic" and it's what you're going to get.
