Wilkinson Sword Classic Double Edge Premium Men’s Metal Safety Razor with x5 Refill Blades

Ordered the razor & blades for my cousin who complained shaving with disposable razors didn’t give a close shave. He called last night to say it was the first good shave he’s had in years! Sometimes the old ways are most reliable. Wish I hadn’t gotten rid of Pop’s old razors.

After watching some shaving videos touting safety or double-edged razors, I decided to give this product a try. I've used disposable razors for all but the early years of my 50 years of shaving. I was ready to try a different razor, plus liked the economics that the double-edged razor would be cheaper in the long run. If one knows they prefer a double-edged razor, then this razor is probably fine. It is heavy and seems high-quality. I have no other double-edged razor to compare this against. But after four uses, I'm giving up on this razor and going back to disposable. Mostly because it takes longer to stop the bleeding on my face and neck from this razor than it does to shave with the disposable. The first use was a mess, not razor cuts, but just countless little nicks,, mostly on my neck. I tried to be more careful the second use, watching the angle of the blade and shaving carefully. Then I realized it would take me twice as long to shave with this razor, having to be so careful. On the third use, I shaved one side of my face/neck with the new razor and the other side with a disposable was already used. The disposable was much faster to use with the result being just as smooth. After a fourth try today and more bloody nicks, I decided I am done with this razor. I want shaving to be quick and easy. I don't want to have to be careful. Because I just have to shave again tomorrow. Again, this product may be a fine razor, but it is not for me. And I would caution anyone considering the switch from a disposable razor.

These classic timeless safety razors are great because they are so easy to clean. I use for sideburns and areas that would clog up a double blade disposable razor. Man up and buy a real razor!

I just did a side by side visual and shave comparison review video of this razor against the Wilkinson Sword Double Edge Safety Razor. They appear to be the exact same razor in slightly different packaging, yet they're charging 66% more for this razor. I'd love to know what the difference is to the $18 WS. Good entry level razor but save your money and buy the $18 WS.
