SP 1TB Rugged Portable External Hard Drive Armor A30, Shockproof USB 3.0 for PC, Mac, Xbox and PS4, Black

Although i bought this as a gift, i first plugged into XBox One. Then figured i should run CrystalDiskInfo to confirm specs. It had: 0 power on hours, a power on count of 2 (before connecting to Xbox, then PC for tests) & the described USB 3.0 capabilities & (5400) RPM spin speed. Health status was good. Unit was quiet and aesthetically pleasing. Friend needed for XBox One, and so far, has been working flawlessly. Previously, I've purchased one SiliconPower (MLC SSD) drive for my PC's OS drive. Had that drive for ~1 year and it works beautifully. I like the vast purchase options & "bang for your buck" as well as good quality/performance. Certainly recommend SiliconPower drives as of this review.

I've had this 1TB shock proof device since 2015 and it is still working solidly. I don't use it super frequently, but mostly for occasional backups of smaller devices. I'm not hard on devices, but this is a great unit that has been rugged, reliable and portable. I have since purchased more of them in larger sizes and higher grade protection that I use more often and I can say that the Silicone Power Rugged series of drives is one of my go to options for working drives when going on the road or when I'm in environments that I wouldn't want to take most hard drives. I stand by this brand and of the 5 different size/style SP Rugged drives I have purchased since 2015, none of them have failed me yet.

In the last 12 years, I have bought more than 5 hard drives from different brands non-one of them have satisfied me and give peace of mind to issuer the hard drive will not broken after multiple of use. However, one of my electrical engineering friends have recommended to me if you need to buy any hard drive from excellent brand buy one of Silicon Power products and see. In 2015, I was searching in Amazon for hard drive to replace one of my hard drives then I remembered my friend recommendation so I looked at all Silicon Power products and decided to buy Armor A30. For 3 years of using it was amazing product from the design, performance, quality, efficiently and the peace of mind. Now, when I searching for hard drive first thing come into my mind this brand and I recommend it to my family and my friend even to you whom searching for this product. Buy it and give a shot then you will decided as me that this brand is the number one for spot to search and buy hard drives and even more.

This is a great value and a really good drive for specific purposes. This is a small rugged package that stores a full Terabyte of data. It's attractive in a technical sort of way, with it's carbon fiber coating and orange bumpers. It's the kind of thing you'll be proud to show your clients. If I do have anything negative to say about this drive it is that it isn't as fast as I thought it would be for a USB 3.0 drive. Don't get me wrong. I'm not going to give this thing up, but I'm also not going to use it for anything but as a safe backup and a bit of extra storage room. Even with the USB 3.0 this thing isn't going to win any speed contests. If you're looking for an attractive (in a techie way), external backup drive or something you're proud to show to your clients on delivery day, then this is an excellent choice and worth all of 4 stars. (Actually, if you use it without a need for speed, it's 5 stars easily) But if you're looking for a fast USB 3.0 drive that you can work with like you might work with a thunderbolt or internal drive, you should probably look elsewhere.

For the price of two smaller memory sticks I purchased this portable to 1) provide a backup option for my files, and 2) allow me the ability to have all my files at my fingertips between the office and my home laptop. Here's what I love: - the convenience of having the USB cord attached and molded into the design - enough memory to house all my files including some monster sized videos and photos - physical size is slightly larger than my Iphone so it conveniently fits in a pocket of my laptop case where I normally store CDs/DVDs - the design is rugged and fun... most likely, IF I were to drop it, unless I dropped it perfectly flat, it would connect on one of the padded corners or sides first absorbing some of the impact (I'm not going to test it, but it visually make sense) - the backup process is fast and efficient - the price for the memory size What I don't love: - sorry, haven't had my first fight yet, so still in the honeymoon phase. I can't believe that I got 1tb for the same price as two 256 gb flash drives. Wish I had done this purchase a long time ago and Oh, Great supplier in price and expediency of delivery

Really well made driver. Lots of space for photos, that’s why I purchased this. I was sick of all these tiny memory cards laying around and worried I would loose them if I didn’t do something about it. The price was pretty good, I did my research and If I was to purchase the about same thing at a local retailer I would have paid about double so I’m very happy with the price of this product. It was delivered overnight with my Prime membership and came in original packaging! So it was definitely the real deal. I like the orange color so it’s easy to find. And it’s super durable and if I drop it, no big deal it’s definitely tougher than some others like it. I like bulky tech items. Definitely recommend!

Overview I very much enjoy photography, so I take alot of pictures while travelling the world. After taking thousands of pictures and filling this hard drive instead of caring it with me everywhere I shipped it home to Canada, from Japan. All it was put in was one of those bubble wrap envelopes and shipped across the world. When the drive arrived at home it was completely fine, still working and no corrupt data. Compare this to another non shockproof hdd that I dropped once and I lost all my files. The hard drive is very ruggedly built and has 6 orange rubber bumpers surrounding it, the bumpers have slits that you can store the cable around which is very convenient. I have been using this hard drive everyday for about a year now and have had it shipped across the world and it is still like the day I bought it. The usb 3.0 is also very fast for transferring files. Overall great product, I have zero complaints. Pros -Solid and shockproof -Cable can be stored with the hard drive -Reliable Cons -Bigger than other slim hard drives
