I always use the original Canon inks in my printer and have had no issues. My Pixma printer is over five years old.

Great Ink for decent price
I've been making black and white art prints with my Canon Pro - 100 for just over a year now. I have tried other knock off inks. Don't even waste your time and money on knock off inks. If you want quality, LONG LASTING ink, go with canon. It's not cheap, but for my purpose (selling high quality archival inkjets) there is no substitute.

Buy the originals
Don’t take a chance with knock offs or refills. Your cost per print will be just a little more, but you have the insurance that your print will have been made with the best inks for your Canon printer. I use these on my Pro-100; it’s an old printer but has never failed to deliver perfect prints using OEM inks.

Expensive, but the right product for the job.
I hate how expensive name-brand printer ink is these days, but having tried some of those generic cartridges I keep coming back to the OEM version. The generic ones just don't work as well.

Using it for Canon Pixma Pro-100
We are using this ink for a Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer. While there are a lot of off brand, generics, and even ink refill kits, we got tired of the constant issues caused by inferior inks or inferior generic / refurbished cartridges. We just want to print in high quality. Generating bad prints and causing pront head clogs just to save $2 a cartridge is not worth it to us. The genuine Canon ink is consistently the best quality and just works.

Canon inks are great!
CLI-42 inks for my Canon printer are top of the line. Quick drying and true to the color. Just wish they were a little less expensive. However. I must admit the inks for my Epson printer are just as costly.

Best ink is the original one. Do not use an unknown brand. Especially when you already invest with a high quality Canon printer. Just use Canon brand ink. Photos are exceptionally gorgeous and high quality.
