This 3 CD compilation of Howlin' Wolf for under $ 10- is a total bargain & maybe one of the best places to start collecting the greatest Blues singer that ever lived.The recordings are very clean, clear & present to my ears- especially compared to the 2 CD Definitive Collection Anthology -the Blues from Hell recording is a more enjoyable experience !& i LOVE the cover photo 'n' title much more as well !!!& so, i wanted to put up a review for this collection to recommend it to any one lookin' for the best place to start & can't afford the Chess Box asthis 3 CD collection is a whole 'lotta 'Wolf for under $ 10- !!!!!

Blues From Hell shows Howlin' Wolf at his historic best
I am very happy with this compilation of Howlin' Wolf classics. It has the right blend of songs from Wolf's career and the sound quality is outstanding. I often feel like I was present when these songs were being recorded. All three discs can be listened to repeatedly, all day long.

GREAT INTRODUCTION
The only Howlin Wolf I have in my collection so far and the sound is superb. I bought my copy last year and paid a little over $10 USD.5 Stars for content, sound, and value.

Great Value
Missing a few classics, but I got it because it had "Saddle up My Pony" and a the usual growling number. It was under $15, so zI can't complain they could have put more songs on the discs.

Howlin' for Howlin' Wolf
Excellent high quality vinyl album, by an excellent artist. I enjoy playing guitar over these amazing tracks. I also like hearing the influences Howlin' Wolf has had on other musicians such as Zeppelin.

Great collection, and the cd's look like old 45's. Classic and indispensable. Wolf was an innovator and a master musician! Highly recommended!
