Classic Carhartt Quality and Great Functionality
These pants are great: Carhartt quality (stitching, zippers, material, etc.), functionality (the pockets and their placement are no accident), fit, and style. They have solid stitching, strong zippers, and material that doesn't wilt at the sight of something abrasive or pointed. They're not exactly summer material, but they're not too thick to wear on a hot day--maybe that has a lot to do with the cotton canvas material. They feel like a lightweight painters drop cloth, if you ask me. I can tell someone other than a fashion designer (that's a good thing, for purposes of my comment here) thought about the pockets. They're sized and placed practicably. I don't get much use out of the hammer/tool hanger loops, especially the larger one (the one on the right is wider than the one on the left). One of the best features of these pants is the fit. They sit where pants are supposed to sit (on a guy, anyway). I'm not sure what the proper definition is as far as "at the waist" or "slight at the waist." I just know I don't have to "part the boys and choose a side" when I want to wear these pants where I feel naturally comfortable wearing them! Lastly, the style is a good balance between "I actually do something for a living" and "I spend more time than I'd like in an office chair." I work at a place where I could be in a meeting with business-like folks one minute, and called out into the field at a construction site the next, and these pants live up to both worlds. Depending on the stiffness of your management, you might be able to sneak these in on business casual day with a nice polo or button-down. I own pairs of the tan, light-brown, and army green pants. The tan ones are the "fanciest" looking of the three and are really an off-white shade. The light brown pants are lighter than the picture shows, which isn't a bad thing. The army green pants are also lighter than the picture, not too far from the color of a used military seabag--I guess it's slightly muted olive drab.

Favorite Work Pants
They are a nice looking work pant. Comfortable, several pockets to accommodate wallet, phone, knife, etc for workday. They hold up well in all types of construction. Glad to be able to find a size 36 length, and not have a problem with shrinkage!

Carhartt work pants
I just started wearing these as an alternative to jeans that I find extremely warm even here in Mpls. So far they seem excellent, comfortable, well made etc and I hope they have the durability of good jeans from LL Bean, Wrangler, and Levi's. I noted that this product has a high return rate, Although I must reserve judgement depending on how they wear and tolerate washing, so far like them a lot. Why do get returned? My guess is that stated measurements did not fit well with me and I had to return two pairs because the stated measurements did not match the usuall W and L that I have ordered confidently with good results for many years. I order or try on 34W and 32L with great results and no failures. With these orders 34W was too tight and 32 L was way too long, so after several orders I settled for 35W and 30L . So a word of caution and one may need to use Amazon's return policies. Maybe order some different sizes straddling your size, hedge your bets and plan on visiting UPS for returns.

DANG, I love these pants
Good fit, comfortable fabric, just enough pocket space for my needs. I've only had them two months, but no quality or wear issues so far. If they hold up more than a year, I'll be even more impressed, because this fabric feels way too soft to be durable. I wanted something with extra pockets for work or street without looking like a Blackwater contractor; mission accomplished. I wish the phone pockets were a little farther forward so I'm not partially sitting on the phone, but otherwise no complaints. Great deal for around 40 bucks. Anything cheaper I've found to be garbage. Update after buying my third pair (more of a rant about sizing, so feel free to go back to the top and just buy them already): I've been a 32/32 for as long as I can remember. For reference, I'm 6' tall, 165 lbs. I've bought three pairs of these, all 32/32, and they fit perfectly. I wanted to try some cheaper options, so I used Prime Wardrobe to get six pairs of Amazon Basics and Goodthreads cargos in various cuts, both 30 and 32 waist. The 30s were a good 2" too big, and of course, the 32s were falling off. Had to send back all six. I've had similar experiences with Walmart jeans, but I thought it was just them. Here's the interesting part: An actual, no-kidding tape measure says it's 33.5" around my waist, including underwear and work shirt (which I tuck in). That means an apparently growing number of clothiers are understating their sizes by as much as 4 or 5 inches. (It also means I'm probably not actually the same size I was in college...) I've always scoffed at women's sizes (and plan to continue), but at least they're only fudging an arbitrary number. Men's sizes are supposed to be dimensions, for crying out loud!

I love 'em ... ust a bit too long for me.
I have always worn 36x 36 pants. These pants i ordered a size shorter and they fit perfect. I have been wearing carharys for about 20 years. They last and are very comfortaglble. I like the heavy weight for winter and the lighter weight for summer.
