You Can Draw!: Simple Techniques for Realistic Drawings Review: The title is spot-on. A well laid out course of study. - I have watched Leonardo Pereznieto on YouTube for several years. It is a well laid out course of study starting with materials and techniques, followed step by step by tutorials. I am doing the tutorials as I have time, and they are very clear and easy to follow. I am setting up object to do my own afterwards. This book will really help you draw what you see whether you are a beginner or more advanced because we all struggle to get it right. I am particularly interested in his lessons on gem stones and metal as I make jewelry. This is a very nice addition to my art library Review: I love this book - I love this book. Leonardo's videos are wonderful and the book is an excellent reference. I especially liked the section on different methods of holding a pencil and the practice exercises. I noticed an improvement in my drawing and line quality. I have always been fascinated by hyper-realistic art but could never figure out how to do it. My drawings looked well like drawings. I know that I'll get lots of use out of this as a reference.

Easy. Well explained.
I purchase for myself, was not all that pleased. It has well illustrated, simply well explained techniques. Excellent book for beginners.. I gifted it to someone at work and she was over the moon pleased with it. She can't say enough good things about it.

Good read and great techniques
Really enjoyed reading the first part of this book goes into great detail about the different medias and materials. The techniques taught look interesting but I have not tried them yet. I am new to drawing and not using colors yet, only graphite. Though I think this is a great book I do not feel I am at the level to do most of the art in it. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Very well written and such a great resource for beginners
Very well written and such a great resource for beginners. The YouTube channel also has many of these items so you can watch his creations as he makes them in real time. I love how happy his art makes him in his videos and makes me want to buy whatever book he writes.

Good tips and great advice
I was so excited to see that one of my favorite artists made a book it's very informative about which products are of a better quality you mainly use Prismacolor products to get the best effects this book is perfect for artists who may be just.trying to draw better or trying to work towards realism like me

Good to add to your collection of reference books
The book includes doing crystals, glass, rocks, gemstones. I think it's okay but am not super impressed, some of the examples are very good, but some of them seem just so-so compared to other artists' examples. I don't think this is a book for beginners, think if you're new to colored pencil you would be better served by buying something that concentrates more on techniques and has more of an overview.

Love this book
I got this book because of watching his videos on You Tube. I have already finished two drawings and I am very happy with the outcome. I am somewhat a beginner and if I can do it I think anyone could. It is very informative and I think that anyone who is looking to learn a bit more should get this book

I've followed Mr. Pereznieto's on-line drawing tutorials and wished they were in one place in book form so I was really pleased when this book was released in the UK. This book did not disappoint me at all. This is a collection of texture tutorials with invaluable and clear guidance. If you have ever wanted to draw a pearl necklace, here is where you come to learn how to draw a perfect pearl. The grain in a piece of wood, the facets on an emerald - or perhaps a rose in a crystal vase? You got them - and far more. The shading techniques throughout this very well set out book are demonstrated and explained in very easy, non-patronising terms. Not having picked up a pencil with serious intention since A-level Art, I'm far from an expert but this book is giving me renewed enthusiasm for drawing with the friendly and invaluable demonstrations delivered by a Writer who is passionate about his craft and truly wants everyone to share in his passion. A book I'm really glad to own.
