Well I never expected to see THIS on the menu!
I've always been a reader and fan of graphic novels. And I love Anthony Bourdain's food travel shows as well as the iconic Kitchen Confidential & Medium Raw. Never did I expect to see both mediums/voices converge into one project. Great artwork and a provocative, funny, hard-boiled underbelly premise. Love the unique aspects of urban Japanese culture taken to a tongue in cheek extreme. Recommended!

A good prequel but the original is still the Original.
I preordered this ages ago and I forgot about it. Shows up one day and I finish reading it that day. I like it, but it's not as good as the first one. Less about food really, but I do like the little references it makes to food when it does. The visuals are, AWESOME No regrets though, I love the cover art.

Raw, bloody and fresh
Destined to be an essential part of any respectable Bordain collection. So bad it’s good. Some scars, like tattoos, never go away. This is one.

Yakuza and sushi!
I am a huge fan of Bourdain's work; Get Jiro: Blood and Sushi is no exception. Bourdain spared no expense in recruiting artistic comic book heavyweights Alé Garza and Jose Villarrubia. The result is nothing short of a bloody masterpiece. Bourdain and Joel Rose masterfully weave a young Jiro in and out of the Yakuza underbelly and the world of the humble sushi apprentice. Jiro must choose between his Yakuza family and his dream of one day becoming a master sushi chef. Jiro is apprenticing for a character that looks like none other than real life sushi master, Jiro Ono. If you have ever watched "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" you should immediately pick up on the parallel. Highly recommended.

I would have really liked it when I was maybe 14 years old
I'm a big fan of Anthony Bourdain. It's ok for a dark comedy graphic novel. I would have really liked it when I was maybe 14 years old. When I ordered it I forgot I was 45.

Estuvo bien, aunque no a la altura de Hungry Ghost que me gustó mucho más. Yo la leí especialmente para practicar mi inglés así en ese sentido está muy bien para practicar.

I would say isn't better then the first, but I'm afraid to have mr Bourdain at the door.... so I'll say that is still a good novel. Quite basic, super japanese BUT a must to have! We need more graphic novels about cusine and chefs.
