KEEN Men's-Arroyo 2 Closed Toe Hiking Sandal

Very comfortable I’ve bought these before they always last me a year which I’m happy with because I’m always outside working in the yard, fishing, camping or even running errands in them. Every type of sandal like this will start to smell and pull cords loosen and stretch so paracord will fix string and a diluted bleach spray works also. I just feel for about $100 it’s worth buying knowing that they will last about a year. I’ve wanted to extend wearing them another year but tbh they hold sweat and my wife throws them away because smells up our closet even after thoroughly bleaching and using fabric sprays on them but it’s not brand specific as I’ve had every pair of outdoor hiking sandals just reek of salty foot. I live on Lake Huron and wear sandals daily when it’s warm enough and my favorite are Keen, owned probably every type and brand Keen seems to be more comfortable durable and the best brand out there for sandals. For people upset about smell you can probably prolong them by using foot deodorants but tbh I could care less I’m married have a kid last thing I’m worried about is a nice smelling pair of sandals. I work in our garden in these, mow lawn chase after a toddler and these fit my lifestyle perfectly. They are well made my feet are average width for 11 1/2 shoes I buy 12 in sandals and these fit perfectly not snug or loose. Just order a half size up and you’ll be fine.

The best all around footwear for general purposes. I do not hike in them though. They have a removable foot bed that allow use of orthopedic inserts below it which makes all the difference if you need them I have bought three pairs. All are durable and all fit perfectly. Highly recomended. Keen is the best.

Good quality. True to size. Comfortable to wear. No break-in required. Based on other Keen footwear I've purchased, virtually indestructible and great appearance throughout its life.

Really Nice Keen Sandals. We'll made, Comfortable and Great Looking! PLEASE Be Aware that these sandals run at least a full 1/2 Size Large. OK if you wear socks BUT, If not wearing socks you should order at least a 1/2 size smaller or one full size smaller for a tight fit as these sandals will stretch a big to form to your feet. Overall....Excellent

Good and sturdy, good traction all weather. I wear these just about all year. (S Oregon) These are my second pair, the old ones are just fine still, but I want some new ones for "go to town". Only thing to do when new is get the best cushion work boot inserts you can find and put in. You might have to do some trimming on the insert for a good fit. Really makes them comfortable. I bought the first pair in May, 2020 and they are still daily wear, rain or shine.

These “hiking” sandals are definitely sandals, but they are NOT for hiking regardless of what the name says. Notice how there is no ankle support. This is probably a great shoe for someone out there, but just not me. I love Keens and have several pairs and have been a fan and worn them for a number of years. Notice that this shoe is really just a dressed up version of the H2 water sandal with thicker, aggressive hiking tread, but overall same design. The problem is that the area around, and below, the ankle is kind of stretchy identical to the H2. The “strings” are elastic, identical to the H2. The back is closed unlike the H2 which is nice to keep rocks from coming in from the rear. The one flaw of this type of Keen sandal is that there is no adjustment in the rear which means you never have snug fit. But make no mistake this is NOT, I repeat, NOT actual hiking shoe. It might be ok for level ground or in-town jaunts, but this shoe is unsafe on unlevel surfaces. It’s unsafe because there is no support to cinch up around your ankles like a actual hiking shoe (not a little day walker as is often portrayed as hiking shoes). I walk a quick routine route that is essentially level ground on a well maintained gravel road. I rolled my ankle right out the gate on the loose material because the sole is too high and the body of the shoe is too loose and stretchy even with the attempt to tighten them up. If you are an avid, serious hiker you will be unhappy with these, and if you are a serious hiker, you probably see this anyway just by looking at the shoe. You could never use this shoe on a real trail or rugged terrain. I’ve had several pair of H2 sandals and love them for what they are. I don’t take joy in saying it, but because the H2 has a sole with a lower profile, they are actually safer than these, which is the same shoe but with a taller tread. I would say these actually might be great as water shoe like the H2, BUT the outer visible part is leather, at least that’s what’s it supposed to be, and would stretch out when wet, And under the leather, as you could guess, is the identical same material as the H2. This shoe has an awesome looking design, but that’s about it. Even use on level ground like in a city is, in my opinion, and that’s all it is, is risky. If you caught the edge of curb or uneven floor of an entrance, you could end up TO on the concrete. These are really just an outdoorsy looking pair of slippers. Again, taller tread and too loose fitting with no ankle support is a recipe for a busted ankle or worse depending on where you down. Just buy regular Keen hiking boots. If you want hiking footwear then buy a real hiking shoe. If you want sandals, buy sandals, but this hybrid of the two is probably not the best choice even though they look sexy. Just sayin.’

Only sandal for real orthopaedics user as the insole can be replaced with your support needs. I’ve tried 3 different sandals and Keen is the only one that allows the insole change without loosing functionality. Great product!

Fantastic sandal. My husband has another pair and he loves them so much I ordered another pair in a different colour. He has very sensitive feet due to arthritis and these give him plenty of room and are so comfortable. Good quality as well. Thank you Amazon for your prompt service. Cheers Kim
