Very handy, easy to use and VERY SHARP blades, so be careful with the fingers! Cuts through braided line with ease as well as monofilament and fluorocarbon. The clip-on strap keeps the item easily tethered to your jacket/shirt etc. I's small size and weight make it easy to carry on your person.

These work great and are super compact. I had a feeling the one with the longer blades is the way to go as I can cut through knots near the bottom and use the middle and higher for cutting line only. The tether device seems flimsy but its not a big deal. They do cut through braided line easily and accurately and are worth it.

I’ve been using these cutters for almost a year. I use it mostly for cutting leader or tippet line for fly fishing. Always cuts on the first cut. Works very well on braided line too since the blades are slightly serrated. It’s very lightweight but the thing I like the most is that you can cut with it without having to look at it, it just naturally fits in your hand.

had my eye on these for some time but for whatever reason was hesitant, I guess I was worried they wouldn’t cut through braided line effectively. I was wrong, they cut through like butter! the built in retractable lanyard is a nice feature too. definitely worth the money!

I purchased an Original SNIP from a brick and mortar a few years ago. One of the best fishing purchases I ever made! This one easily cut Spectra braid up to 300# and often cut it cleanly without the line being under tension. Not every single time, but probably upwards of 90% of the time, it would cleanly cut limp Spectra braid. Certainly a five star product in my book. Fast forward a few years and my trusty SNIP "disappeared" on a fishing boat. So I purchased three new SNIPS - another original, a Big Salt, and a Long Fly. I was building a lot of wind-on leaders and used the new tools both for leader making at home and for use when out fishing. Well, this new trio performed adequately, but never to the level of that original Original SNIP. The new ones easily cut tightly stretched Spectra, but only occasionally sliced through limp Spectra. I suppose that's all that should be expected from these tools. Most cutting tools cannot cleanly cut through limp Spectra line. But my first pair of SNIPS was so impressive, it's a letdown that the new ones don't offer that same capability. For performance, these get five stars. They do what they're supposed to do, cut fishing line. For value, they get three stars. There are plenty of braided line cutting tools available, like cheap children's scissors, that do as good a job of cutting braided fishing line as the SNIPS do and cost a lot less. So for me, four stars for my Amazon-purchased SNIPS.

I really wish the handle was a little thinner but not a deal breaker, however I've had no issues with these otherwise. They are sharp and cut well. I have even trimmed a fingernail and a pinch with them. They have no issues. Cutting braid which can be extremely frustrating with bad scissors or nail clippers. I think the price is a little bit high but not unreasonable. I've had no issues with rust. They're comfortable to hold, but sometimes the width can get in the way. I'm glad I bought the longer ones. It makes them easier to use. I think they could taper the plastic more towards the clippers and still leave room for the retractable wheel being wider. Either way, I don't think it would stop me from purchasing them unless they made a modified version.

Before you get frustrated thinking they jam up, I did the same I found that it has a safety locking mechanism so if you squeeze the levers and pull down on them it locks closed and you just need to push up on the levers when your fingers are on it and it unlocks. Works flawlessly after you figure that out.

Very nice and quality product. it works with all kind of fishing lines. I have both Boomerang Fishing Line Cutter and Berkley Hot Line Cutter. both are excellent product but Berkley Hot Line Cutter is very convenient the only issue is it battery life is tooooo short

Great item. Cuts all my lines, including braided, like nothing. Even broke a nail and it cleaned that up without a problem. Might be a little expensive, but in the long run it is worth the extra money.

Tested the braid cutting ability by cutting lose hanging pieces. Clean cut each time. I did spray the blades with silicone as I'll be using these in a saltwater environment. I purchased the long nose as I like the extra blade lingth to get a close snip on my leader knots. All in all satisfied.
