This is a regular sized pencil holder in height, but slightly larger around. It's by no means a large ceramic item. It is very inspirational with various affirmations around the entire item, coloring is lovely, and the finish very smooth. The thin gold band at the top just over the lip of the opening is a perfect finish, giving it that decorative touch to what is a practical use item. Originally purchased to store my letter opener, pencils and scissors, I find those to be too tall for this as they splay out instead of my desire to have them more straight up. It is holding my small hand held flash lights so I know exactly where they are for when the electricity goes out. I wouldn't need multiple of the item, but I can recommend this item as a stand alone purchase.

There is a pattern repeat on the cup. Wouldn’t mind so much if it had one seam where the image lines up so I would always face that to the back. But it is one image that covers half the cup and is repeated very obviously making two seams where the images meet.
