Quality, well made dash cam with high quality footage and great features.
This camera is very nice quality. The mounting bracket is magnetic and works very well, it holds the camera very firmly and is so much better than the cheap thin plastic swivel mounts I've had on previous dash cams. The instructions for fitting were clear and they even supply a trim lever tool to help you to hide the cables behind trims when fitting which I found very useful. The rear window camera is very compact and is also on a magntic mount which works very well. The quality of the recorded footage is very good and clear, and this dash cam has added features such as wifi,Bluetooth, gps, emergency services S.O.S. alert parking mode plus others. One feature this camera has is Alexa compatability, although after trying to set it up for a while, I found this feature has not been executed very well and as many other reviews state is a bit of a waste of time, as I just couldn't get it to work properly. Other than the Alexa problem, this camera meets all my dash cam needs. I purchased a hard wire kit separately and it is connected direct to my car's fuse box so I don't have to have a cable plugged into my lighter socket. I would recommend Nextbase dash cams as they have plenty of useable features, are very well made and are reasonably easy to install. Price wise they are more expensive than other less well known makes but the quality of the camera and accessories justify spending that bit more for a well made set up. It is far superior to the Toguardset up I had before.

Nice camera shame about the app transfer speed
Really nice dash cam. The footage from the front camera is excellent. Shame that the rear is not the same resolution. Just make sure you buy a fast micro SD card for it. I would say a write speed of at least 50 MB/s. If not, the dash cam will struggle to ease and write to the card once it is full. The one downside I have is with the phone app. It’s sooooo sloooowww to connect and transfer data. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and it’s pretty unusable. Maybe it needs faster WiFi hardware?

Dashcam saved me an insurance claim.
Easy to fit, front and back work really well. I tucked it into the trim around my doors and boot. No issues. Really long cable length. Ive had this in a couple of cars, been easy to swap over. The sticky pad works REALLY well. Had to buy more when I got a new car. Just as easy to remove. Small compact design, settings easy to use. Ive had to use footage a couple of times off here. Once for the police- it was footage from the back camera. Was very clear can see clear and could see driver and car very well, case for harassment and stalking. The second for my insurance when a van crashed into me. Not my fault. Other driver said I was at fault, dash cam proved this.

Not fit for purpose
Barely fit for purpose. Ok so I bought this to replace a cheap camera that did well but was inconsistent. At more than 4 times the price I expected the nextbase 422 to be great, it isn't. Firstly I tried it with a high spec SanDisk SD card. The camera failed to record if it was cold and would often say card not found, or card needed formatting. So I forked out and got a nextbase SD card. This has improved things. However the big issue is the camera freezing. If you go get petrol or just turn your engine off for a bit and turn it back on, half the time the camera turns back on and freezes. I have now glued a piece of plastic to the reset button so I can restart it without pulling over. What is the point of a dash cam that doesn't record when you need it to!? Save the hassle and buy anything other than nextbase.

Superb Dashcam with nice added features
I already own a Nextbase 522GW with its Rear Camera attachment, and it did me wonders on my car. I can say exactly the same thing with the 422GW. Although the camera is small, don't be deceived from what it can do. It records really well, and the image captured is very clear. With the added feature of the Nextbase Player App, I can manage the webcam's settings with ease. Viewing the videos do get a little fiddly, as it reconnects to WiFi, rather than the more conventional, though slower, Bluetooth connection. All in all, it's a huge recommendation to get this Dashcam.

Mixed Experience – Needs Better Memory Card Handling
The Nextbase dash cam looks great and has solid features, but I ran into repeated issues with memory cards. Initially, I used a third-party card, and the camera froze multiple times, especially when the card was full. It seems the dash cam didn’t automatically erase and overwrite old footage, which should be a basic feature. I then switched to an official Nextbase memory card, expecting better compatibility. It worked fine for a while but eventually got stuck again with some error messages. After reformatting the card, it started working again, but this whole experience was frustrating. These problems could likely be fixed with a software update to ensure automatic loop recording works properly with any supported memory card. Until then, the reliability is hit or miss.
