Great! Doesn't need soaking! Use hairdryer to make it fully expand in seconds! No smell at all
It came compressed in the vacuum bag, and I read recommendations to soak it in water to make it fully expand and let it dry for days to remove the smell. I decided to heat it up with a hairdryer and it expended in seconds! Just blow hot air on it going around every "pyramid" and the backside until fully expended. What you see in the pictures is how it looks just out of the bag, and on the right, it's after 45 seconds of using a hairdryer. So, soaking is not needed! Also, it smells like nothing. I put it in the PC case with a constant airflow in ad out ~ 140CFM. If there would be any smell, it would be noticed immediately, but there is no smell at all. Sound-wise, it works great for me, removing most of the hight pitched noise. Now I only can hear the sound of the air that blows through the case, while before I could hear a coil wine, water pumps, a slight fan dronning, etc. Overall - very satisfied!

Reduced Noise Between Rooms
Used these to reduce noise between two rooms that for some reason had two air vents placed above each door. These were easy to trim and place inside, reducing the noise while still allowing some airflow.

Nice!
They arrived shrink wrapped and I was surprised when they popped into shape. Works very well for my use

Only for looks.
Not effective for soud dampen, mostly for looks. Tested with high definition audio tuning microphone. No changes in DB. However it did add more lower frequency in speech. If you want to ass dampened build a framed out of 1"x1" wood, turn the cone face the wall but suspending the foam in the frame. This creates a air pocket where the sound frequency will bounce off the wall and back into the foam cones .. when we tried this it lowered the DB on average -7

Reasonable sound treatment for $
I took the time to ‘fluff’ and air my panels out and had no issue with crushing or smell. These are certainly not as sound deadening as other types of panels, but these do a great job at reducing reverb and hard surface echo. (I used mine spaced a couple inches apart on my booth ceiling and was pleased with the way they cut the sound without leaving the room too dead) Will not work well to sound proof, only help with softening or reducing sound. I’m pleased with them.

Great buy
Got this because my neighbors in apartment next door complain about my music. The difference in sound while I’m playing the music is very noticeable right away since I put them up so it seems like this is gonna work! Doing the recommended soak in warm water works great so they can fully expand; you just have to wait like a day until they’re done drying. I just used command strips to hang them pretty easy.

Absolutely no reduction in sound
These are simply over-priced pieces of foam. They did absolutely nothing to absorb sound. I had them in a room with a noisy sump pump, and they did not work at all. Will be promptly returning.

They are okay
4/6 came in great condition but for the 2 that didnt, they were both ripped and so flattened they were not able to be inflated even hours after opening compared to the others

6 panels - Not 12/24.
I needed another 12 panels for a project i'm working on - Theres a million Acoustic Foam panels out there, with the vast majority being in 12 or 24 packs. Looking for the best bang for buck, I went with these not realizing there was only 6 panels. It's my own fault for not paying attention, but the standard is 12 or 24. For a few dollars more you can get 12 from other retailers. The value here is terrible for 6 pieces. Look elsewhere.

Better than expected!
Easy to install with spray-on contact adhesive. Actually blocked sound from my computer cupboard better than I expected - about half I would say. They're not the largest but easy to spread around. After unpacking I left an hour to inflate.
