Overcomer Bible Study Book

Hard to put down.Very encouraging and has a way to help self reflect on own journey.Must read the bonus chapter as it address some questions left unanswered.

This is an excellent film! It is a must to watch. Such a wonderful story line about not giving up. Everyone can change and everyone can make a difference to others circumstances. Don’t give up and don’t see yourself as a failure in life. You are precious and loved abundantly.

This is a good book. So it is a Christian one, doesn't matter to me. Means it has an extra angle of human experience and some rich values to use in it's narrative. I am a runner, and like running stories, but this was very tangential to the story and of my pleasure in the book. I liked it for something else: The characters and their struggles.It does have a rich cast of characters. It fleshes them out properly and puts most of them through some difficult challenges: Some big, others small, all worrying. The main protagonists (coach and runner) are well supported with real 3-D family and colleagues. It has good dialogue and experience, nicely drawn and well detailed. The Christian message is present throughout but not inappropriate. The problmes are big and real. The solutions are not clear to our characters and their confusion and search for meaning and direction is engaging. The message is deep but not gratuitous. Hanna the runner is flawed and remains flawed for most of the book. I felt the author did well to avoid too-easy solutions. Everyone tries and has to persist. For some, even little things are triumphs. And in the end, win or lose, triumphs are there for all, if sometimes unexpected, but all are hard won.So the book was a success to me. It has a strong Christian flavour. While I have, with other books, sometimes felt that was distracting, not here. The odd tear came to my eyes and any book that manages it can take credit for that depth. The 'study' page of questions at the end can be skipped without loss, but also used without any need to consider it in Christian terms. I think any reader from 10 onwards might like this.RECOMMENDED
