There were 2 things I was hesitant about: 1) I was concerned about the fabric it was made of since I have dogs in the house; thus dog hair and so much of these fabrics are dog hair magnets. The last thing I wanted is a hamper covered in dog hair in my bedroom. But its not a huge fur-magnet at all! I got the grey to be on the safe side since I have both black and white dogs. 2) Its sturdiness- since it has individual tension-rod type structures to hold it upright. But that was also a nice surprise since it is pretty sturdy as designed. It is already somewhat protected by being against a wall in a small spot. But it also stands upright on its own very well. If a rod did go out Id just replace it with a dowel rod from a home improvement store. But I dont see that happening either. I do laundry once a week for one person and I grab the clothes out of it to take them to the laundry room- versus taking the whole thing with- so it stays where its at, so it isnt roughhoused or banged into and dropped, knocked over etc like you can do with a plastic one. So for me it is perfect (and I am a farmer, it isnt like I treat it was great care, I just dont treat it like maybe a teenager would) Im super happy with it and so glad I finally bought it. It is perfect for small spaces and way sturdier than Id anticipated. Well worth the money and I cant say that about many of desertcart products. Review: good value and great for small uses - I wanted a small hamper for hand wash/delicates. this was perfect. small footprint. doesn't have any scratchy plastic to snag things. The handles are nice, as you can just carry it to the laundry room. I'm not sure what the mesh bag insert thing is supposed to do. maybe close it if you're transporting out of your house. I think I'm just going to cut that off. The weight is balanced well. I have tossed a few things at it from a couple feet away and it doesn't tip over if they don't fall in perfectly with my non-Magic Johnson throw and instead hang off the side. Is it a 10 year hamper? Probably not, but it suits my need perfectly and is a good value for the price. ## Features - Strong & Comfortable Handles: The Handles on both sides make it easy to carry this Narrow laundry basket with handle with one hand from the bedroom, bathroom, or laundry room. The mesh can effectively prevent the clothes from falling off during transportation. **Q: Has anyone successfully removed the mesh? If so, how does it look?** A: The mesh doesn't really get in the way... I'd actually forgotten that there is any mesh. It lays flat up against the inside. I've had mine for long enough to know that it doesn't create a problem, and it's so much better than any of my old hampers. **Q: It smells. Has anyone try to wash it? I know it shouldn't be washed because it will damage the waterproof-ing but I don't need this to be waterproof.** A: I would try spraying it with Lysol or natural deodorizer spray 1st & let air dry. Just my 2cents for this type of product. **Q: Is the handle of the basket firm?** A: Yes ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ it is exactly what it claims to be! *by C***M on December 16, 2022* I spent way too long trying to decide to buy this or not. Probably not, but it suits my need perfectly and is a good value for the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Looks good *by S***H on October 10, 2022* I chose this hamper for its size, which fits great in my small bedroom. It's attractive and looks like it will hold about one load of laundry. However, it had an overwhelming, horrible smell when I took it out of the box. I immediately got a headache and bad taste in my mouth. Hoping the scent will go away sooner than later. Updated from 3 to 4 stars on 10/23/22: I left the hamper outdoors for 24 hours, then kept it in the bathroom, and the smell was gone within a week. I would recommend this product if you have space to air it out away from your living area. ## Frequently Bought Together - ZERO JET LAG Small Laundry Hamper With Handles Slim Collapsible Small Laundry Basket Skinny Hamper for Dirty Clothes 45L (22 inches,Beige) - Amazon Basics Slim Velvet, Non-Slip Suit Clothes Hangers, Pack of 30, Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://grenada.desertcart.com/products/144110325-laundry-hamper](https://grenada.desertcart.com/products/144110325-laundry-hamper) --- *Product available on Desertcart Grenada* *Store origin: GD* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
