The entire base of the shoe was bigger, thicker. They looked a lot like crocs, but without the strap. Those shoes were horrible. I prefer these that I jut got. They look much better. Like the shoes I used to get. The size explanation didn't make sense to me. I wear 9.5 US and purchased 40 EU. A perfect fit. I live in Florida. Sand easily gets in them even when away from the beach. I walk into the shower with them. Rinse and hang on the rail to dry. I also wear socks when its' very hot, as the rubber get slick. I've walked out of them a time or two lol. We do have weather that is cold for us. Socks on those days too. A great shoe indoors and out.

A Slip Up in Sizing
While the breathable mesh material of these sandals seemed promising for a comfortable summer shoe, I was quite disappointed with the sizing. I ordered a size 10, but the sandals were significantly too large, causing them to slip off my feet with every step. It's a shame, as the design and material quality seemed decent. However, the sizing issue completely undermined the potential comfort and style of these sandals. I would

It was too large
I was hoping the shoe would be easy to put on and snug fit. but it slide off too easy. They need starp.

I love these slides. But be advised they run a bit smaller than some similar models.

It works for me!
Foot discomfort at the beginning of use but it gets better and better with regular use. Full comfort is achieved after few uses. It is light. The colors are lovely. It fits well. The quality relative to cost is ok.
