We use the FE Active Folding Camping Bed for motorcycle camping and it has been brilliant. It is lightweight, folds up easily, and adds a bit of much-needed comfort after a long day riding. Sturdy and easy to set up, it makes camping on the road much more enjoyable. A simple, practical addition for anyone who wants a more comfortable night while travelling.

Fantastic camp bed that is comfortable but rigid enough. Good for camping as it keeps you off the ground. I use it while motorbike camping as small enough for strapping to bike. Quick to build and dismantle.

I have now used this bed twice, once for a duration of three nights and the other for two, and I am very happy with it. The legs were a little difficult to attach to the frame at first, but if you follow the technique used in the video you shouldn't have a problem. Yes, they are stiff to snap to the frame, but if you turn the bed on its side, snap the leg to the lower frame first then use your bodyweight to press down from above and snap the top part in last it makes their insertion easy, and that stiffness is good as it is what gives the fabric the rigidity it needs. The poles are more than strong enough to cope with this so don't be too gentle. I am 5' 7" tall and weigh 87kg. At all times I found it plenty strong enough and stable for my needs, even when sitting on the edge in the morning. At no time did the bed move or tip. Comfort is fine though I did lay a wool blanket over the bed, as my shoulders are quite wide, so this gave me plenty of comfort from the edge of the frame. Packing down is quick and easy, and all fits back in the same bag without any issue if you take your time, roll the main poles up with the fabric, insert that first then pack a couple of the legs with the feet inserted down and then the others with them up. The small pack down size and weight are perfect for easy carriage. For the price this is a quality bed and I can thoroughly recommend. UPDATE August 2024 Having used this bed each summer for approximately 2 weeks a year I have been very impressed with its comfort and durability, however on my last trip one of the black leg supports split, causing the pole that links the legs to pop out whenever I lie on the bed. I contacted FE Active via email 3 weeks ago to see if it is possible to purchase a replacement support but have yet to receive a reply, which is a shame. As a result I have reduced my rating from 5 to 4 stars as I only weigh 85kg and had hoped it would last more than a few years of fairly limited use.

Perfect for camping on motorbike trip around Norway for three weeks

Whilst I’ve only used this on a couple of occasions, it’s been very easy to put together and has proved incredibly comfortable and far better than an air mattress on the floor. It’s not super wide, but perfectly adequate for a normally size person (I’m 13.5 stone and 5’10” which i’m not saying is normal but it’s perfect bed for me). The combination of size and weight plus comfort is perfect for Motorbike riding. if I lost it, I definitely buy the same again. I was looking at the Hook version and I’ve no idea if that is better, but this is certainly perfect for my requirements.

If only we could leave a 10 star review.. This bed is easy to out together and take apart. Stores small and easily when nothing use. It's been used twice now and both times were super comfortable and felt nice and secure, both with and without a SIM on top Best part? Their customer service. One of the poles had bent and twisted a small bit. A new pole would have easily solved the issue, but instead within 48hours or reporting we had a new bed on our doorstep. Will definitely be investing in ones for the rest of the family with our various camping trips. Awesome product!

Having used the FE Active Folding Camping Bed for adults for over three months now, I've gathered quite a few insights about its durability and overall comfort. First off, the bed's lightweight design is a significant advantage. It's incredibly easy to transport and set up. The fabric is tough yet breathable, making it suitable for various weather conditions. I've used it on both chilly nights and warm evenings, and it has adapted well. However, you will need a pillow with it to as is really uncomfortable without it

Had this for a year or so. Used by my 12 YO on multiple camping trips. The bed functions very well in most respects. It’s light, folds down small, and fits into its supplied bag easily enough. It’s quite straightforward to put together (I’m really struggling to understand the negative comments in this respect), with assembly taking about 5 minutes (when new - see below). Although I don’t use it, I have tried it and it seemed both comfortable and study enough for my, shall we say, generous frame. My only criticism is that, with age, the short aluminium tubes used to join the side poles have started to slip inside the poles very easily and are a bit of a PITA to extract (small screw driver or tent peg sorts it). This, annoyingly, now lengthens an otherwise short setup time! Because, once the side tubes are joined, you can’t necessarily see how far the aluminium tubes have slid inside, there’s also a reasonable possibility of failure in use, as happened on a recent trip. While an attempt has been made to crimp the offending tubes into place, this really hasn’t survived regular use. OK, 10 minutes with a small drill and a rivet gun has solved this problem permanently, but TBH, it really could and should have been sorted at the design/manufacturing stage. If it wasn’t so good in other respects I’d have knocked this down to two stars.

I can't believe it took me this long to jump onto the COT bandwagon! This will be a game changer for my motorcycle camping kit! This packs up fairly small, all things considered, and is definitely light enough to go for a ride. I've set it up and taken it down a couple of times now, and while it's not complicated, it does take a bit of time. Grab a beer, and enjoy the process. (You'll only get through 1/3 of your beverage, don't be scared.) I'd definitely recommend watching the YouTube instructional video OR follow my advice and stand up, tip the thing up onto it's side, longest part of the mattress horizontal with the ground and with the top facing you, secure the bottom part of the leg to the bottom rod, and then push the top part of the leg into place. It takes a bit more effort than you may think it should, and feels a bit like you're going to break the leg, but you won't. it bends and bows just fine. Once all of the legs are in place, you realize just how sturdy this thing is! I agree with other reviewers that you could very likely sleep on it, without a pad, but for optimal comfort, I recommend putting a mattress of some sort on top of it too. I am notorious for getting a sore back when camping, but not with this combination! I slept on it for 3 nights and it felt like sleeping on my bed at home. Keep the elastic bands that go around the legs and poles. You'll want them for the pack up! I can't recommend this product enough, and especially at this price point!

The bed is quite comfortable and packs away to a reasonably small size, which is a must for me, as I use it on motorbike trips. IT does take a few minutes to set up.
