This book is absolutely horrible. I have read it multiple times to prepare for a promotional exam, and I have not learned one useful thing from it. The only way this book could have been published is because Clinton Smoke had some sort of deal with testing companies to use this book for their exams, and then they charge you $51 for it! There are numerous grammatical and spelling errors and 90% of the images in the book have no bearing whatsoever on the reading material. Read this book ONLY if you are being forced to for a promotional exam, then immediately forget everything you've read after the test is over.

Very simply put...the absolute worst book ever written. Spelling errors, paragraphs that make no sense, a chapter that just suddenly ends in the middle of a sentence, I could literally go on for days. Clinton "smoke" (I'm sure that's his real name) should refrain from imparting any more of his "wisdom" on anyone else in the fire service.Oh ya...and the study guide book has no answer key. So don't buy that either as it is useless.

offered very general advice. Anyone with a shred of common sense could have written this book. Was not so great.

Legitimately THE WORST officer book I've ever read.

This book even though being in it's third edition has spelling errors, miss labeled photographs and even a paragraph that doesn't have an ending. Besides that it is a wordy hard to read book, like a professor that rambles on trying to impress his class

This book really helped my husband who is studying for the Captain exam. The book was very helpful, reasonable in price, and the delivery time was excellent!
