Fun but wire rots pumpkin

We purchased the vine arms, legs and top. Made quite a character out if our pumpkin, a lot of fun, BUT went through 2 pumpkins in one week. Where the arms, top or legs stick into the pumpkin, it rots that area. So next year, putting them into a plastic pumpkin, hate too. But unless you want to keep changing pumpkins, do plastic. Good and fun addition though.
