Gerlitz Acoustic Guitar Body (GNO)

If you own a guitar that has a hard shiny finish you want this wax, and you really do not want a cream because creams just lay on the surface and make things slippery until they are rubbed off; in other words, creams are a waste of money on hard shiny finishes.I first used Gibson Guitar spray polish to clean; then I put a very light coat of this wax on and continued to follow the instructions on the can. I made sure to let it dry throughly, and then I buffed it off with a buffing cloth.Immediately the guitar had a shine to it that appears as adding depth to the finish, but what I like most is when you feel the guitar it has a solid clean No Slip feel. I would compare it to probably what a surfer would feel with surfing wax on a board and how the feet are like stuck in place because of the no slip that wax produces.This wax should last a long time for my 3 guitars because it only takes a very small amount, and with three coats the wax should keep that solid non-slip feel for a while until I need to change strings again. I have been playing guitars for 35 years and I never new about wax. After I get the guitar waxed, I then rub pure mineral oil on my fret board to keep it healthy, and then I string it all back up.Do not pass this wax up; for your guitar maintenance all you need is a good spray polish to clean the surface, this wax to produce that hard in-depth shine with a super non-slip feel, pure mineral oil that you can purchase at a grocery store for you fretboard, and a ten dollar humidifer to keep in your guitar case.

I have been using this stuff in my shop and do about 400 guitars a year and a Tin lasts me about 2 years applied correctly. It doesn’t look like there is much when you open the lid but it goes a very long ways. Make sure you dampen the sponge and squeeze it until it’s almost dry and then use it. You will be ready to buff after it dries to a haze. You should never use car wax or especially polishing products on your guitar finish. They are not formulated for guitars. I usually alway apply and remove it at least 2 times to insure complete coverage and to build up a hard shell coating that protects the finish and makes easier to keep clean. This is the one you need to use on your guitar!

This polish is great for acoustic and electric guitars. Works well for piano wood too.Helps hand slide on guitar neck very well.Makes guitars and any wooden instrument sparkle and shine.Easy to use. The sponge that comes with it really works well for applying the wax.Really great product.

This stuff rocks. It goes on like paste wax. Let it dry and lightly buff off. Feels like genuinely good protection.

Been caring for guitars for over 30 years and have used a variety of high end waxes designed both for guitar and car. This stuff works really well! I was amazed at the high gloss shine I got on some pretty old guitars. It takes a while for it to dry but buffs out really nice.I did not like it on the back of the neck though and I conditioned that area with another product, but for the main area of your guitar both body and headstock, it did fantastic.It does put on a really hard protective covering, which is nice for protection, but I would test it on a guitar first before doing your main guitars. I noticed a slight dampening of tone on one guitar after using this stuff.

This is a thick paste that you can apply with the provided sponge. It spreads easily. After application it takes several minutes to dry because of it's composition? It wipes off easily and leaves a deep shine. I applied it to a new Gibby Les Paul Standard, an Epiphone ES339, an Epiphone Les Paul ES Pro, and an Epiphone Violin Bass. All 4 instruments are now super shiny. The container is not real big. But I can see that it will last a long time because a little bit of paste goes a long way.

I bought this wax and compared it to Meguiars I've been using for years and it surpasses Meguiars by miles. I have a few guitars and they really shine with this wax, you can really see the depth of the paint with this wax and it works great on headstocks also. I like the applicator and the fact that this is a paste wax which is effortless to apply.Along with a few high end guitars, I also have a few beaters. I used this wax on an old Squier that is thoroughly used and it looks fantastic. fine scratches and blems are gone and the guitar looks great.I use old t shirts to buff the wax off the guitars and found that it comes off chrome easilly, I overdid it with an older Les Paul guitar and was surprised to see the wax come off with ease. I will buy this stuff again and again, my local guitar shop sells this for the same price.

Good stuff. It's safe for nitro lacquer finishes; It doesn't leave a thick coating; and most important, it does not contain silicone. I don't know of another wax that does NOT contain silicone. Even Meguiars has it. That may be fine for automobiles, but when used on guitars, the silicone works it's way into the wood, and is impossible to remove. Later, if the guitar needs glue (repair), or a refinish, forget about it. Glues and coatings won't adhere properly.I believe the reason everyone else uses silicone is to avoid caking in the container. It's more workable. Yes, Gerlitz does cake up, and it can be annoying, but it's not a big deal, especially considering the alternative.I use it sparingly on my non-relic, non-vintage guitars. First a wipe down with Gibson Pump Polish, rubbing it all off. Then apply some of this, on a damp sponge (included in the can). Coat the whole surface, let dry for five minutes, and then buff off. Generate a bit of heat for a really nice, hard, thin finish.It works particularly well to combat sticky guitar necks, either in humid weather, or with nitro that hasn't fully cured yet.
