Works perfect for what I Needed it for.
EDIT MAY 10TH 2025: nearly 13 years later and I still have and used this for travel lol. It's held up pretty well over the years. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I needed these in a pinch for travel i was going on and chose it based on its size, reviews, and available colors. I liked that i could get a different color than a standard plain black, and the green suited me just fine, and also if a friend ever needed to borrow it it would be gender neutral as opposed to a pink one (which i would have loved lol). Though true to other reviews the green color is NOT as bright and pretty as it appears on the photo, it is a little more muted, but a little more woodsy than olive id say. I have a ton of pics i took from various angles of all its features and even with it stuff full but i don't see where i can post them on this particular items page. :( I have no complaints over the durability of the suitcase (i don't use the mini one) kinda stupid, don't know if anyone ever uses them, not big enough for my laptop. So the suitcase will be the main point of my review. The item held up just fine and had no problems with it as a carry on. I flew through American Airlines for all flights and never once had any question of its size/weight issue and didn't have to check it. It rolled smoothly through the airport. the wheels worked well and had no issues with the handle. extended/retracted simple and quickly with a push of the button on top. there was an occasional tip or flip, but i attribute that to my handling of the bag as its a narrower than a larger one so it was easy to accidentally twist when pulling it up next to you, But that was mainly just how i was handling it. It can actually fit a pretty good amount of stuff in it. I had 2 pairs of jeans, house sweats, yoga style sweats, 8 shirts, 10 underwear and a couple bras, 4 pairs of socks, and a pair of low profile sneakers, pair of flats, and heels. Oh and an extra hoodie on top of all of that. Also had my makeup bag stashed in it too. All that WITHOUT the use of the 3" extender that unzips if you need it. I didn't want to risk having to check it. However on one of my flights, to/from an airforce base in a tiny plane, they had no room for carry ons so they had to be checked (no fee i might add) and it help up fine against their rough handling. Made it through the airports 6 times and came home in just as good condition as we left. Fortunately no scuffs or marks from being handled by agents or thrown on the belt or plane, and held a ton of stuff! all the intimates and socks and things were stowed in the zip mesh pocket on the inside, packed shoes in the bottom, then pants, then tops, then hoodie, I am very please with the durability and quality of this piece for a pretty decent price. It did what i needed it to do and did its job well. i really have no complaints about it at all and can't wait to go on another trip with it.

Cheap in price, but not cheaply made. Bigger and more rugged than I thought. Budget suitcase
This review is for the Teal colored "U.S. Traveler Rio Lightweight Softside Rolling Carry-on Suitcase, 2-Wheel Single". Teal isn't really my groove. But for some reason it was on sale for $28.88, way cheaper than the black version I probably would have been drawn to. For this price I didn't know what to expect, and the reviews were all over the place, but I had a trip coming up and needed something fast and cheap. There isn't anything "cheap" about the construction. It's in line with every other budget brand rolling carry-on, and this one is labeled "lightweight". Spoiler: That's industry term for lightweight USE, not just that it only weighs a few pounds. You're not going to see commuters or business travelers using this suitcase. A lot of reviews called it "small". It's sized to fit into one of those sizing boxes a lot of the narrow-body aircraft operators (like Alaska) have to determine if it qualifies for carry-on or not. There are thousands of larger rolling carry-on suitcases you can buy, and maybe they fit and maybe they don't, basically if you have anything bigger you are hoping that the airline isn't enforcing the size rules that flight. They usually don't. But if you need extra space, this carry-on has a zipper to make it larger. Will it tip over when it's full? Probably. Mind did. A lot of the cheap 2 wheel bags have this problem. If you can't babysit the bag to prevent if from falling over, buy one with 4 wheels. For sure if you use the zipper to make this suitcase larger, it's going to fall over. Teal. The teal color never grew on me, but it makes the bag instantly identifiable. If I ever have to check the bag, it will probably help me identify it spinning around on the carousel. It made it easy to know the airport shuttle guy grabbed it. We have high humidity where I live, and suitcases don't last long. We buy them frequently so we buy them cheap. This is a good budget suitcase. If you're looking for high end stuff, shop in that price range.

11 countries, 27 flights, takes a licking, keeps on ticking
I recently completed an 11-country, 11-week around-the-world trip, including 27 flights, with this carry-on luggage, and they came through it with flying colors. The bags took a licking and kept on ticking through it all. Take a look at the photos to see how they look at the end of this expedition. Not quite new, but not all that far off considering what they'd been through. I was able to carry everything I needed, and a few things it turned out I didn't need, in these bags. I had no checked bags for the entire trip, just these two guys. The expansion capability of the main carry-on came in handy at times, though the way airline requirements vary so widely from airline to airline it's a guessing game what a given ground crew might object to. Only on four or five of those 27 flights did an airline insist on checking the bigger bag, and only one time was I assessed an overweight charge (and for this reason I don't recommend flying on Air Asia -- hear that, Air Asia?) I have two criticisms to make. One serious, one less so. The less serious criticism is of the flight bag. This version of the flight bag is smaller than the older version. Not sure if this is just to save money or to meet some airline requirement. It would have been nice to have a bit bigger flight bag. The more serious criticism pertains to the main carry-on. It lacks a foot to keep it from falling over when it has any weight in the front compartment. I packed my laptop in the inside front pocket, and as a result that weight caused the bag to tip over if I didn't prop it against something. Look at the third photo and you'll see what I mean. This was a continual annoyance, and especially so when someone, like a taxi driver, would grab the bag from my hands and I'd have to rush to tell them it didn't stand up on it's own before they'd let it go and allow the bag to fall over, risking damage to my laptop. The manufacturer really needs to add a foot to the front of the bag to avoid this problem. It's an easy but important fix. This is really my only gripe about this set, both in terms of its capacity, durability, and functionality. Even all the zippers held up, despite being opened and closed probably hundreds of times. In summation, excellent value for the money.

Good bag at good price
This bag was perfect for my trip. I loved the smaller size, and it held everything I needed for the 4 days. Although it’s a soft-sided bag, it has durable framing that protects the items inside. The handle slides easily and locks tight in place, and the wheels roll smoothly, making it easy to roll through a busy airport. The mesh zippered liner on front inside of bag makes it easy to organize items separate from clothing. It’s a nice looking bag that I easily spot at the baggage pick up. Although I did check my bag (no damage) it is sized for carry on. The smaller “personal” bag was roomy enough for everything I needed on the plane (book, snacks, gum etc) and items I wanted securely with me (I.D. , tickets, jewelry, money etc).

Works fine, kind of flimsy
I bought this because I needed a bag fast (one day ship) while already on vacation and didn't want to pay much. It did the job for $36 (used), but the build quality is pretty mid to low. Flimsy construction, would not expect this carry-on suitcase to survive many trips being checked below if/when that ever happens. Sewing of strap on top handle was also off-center, which seems like an obvious mistake to make and let slip by quality control. It'll be fine as a clothes-only carry-on bag, but again, I wouldn't risk putting anything fragile/crushable inside. The smaller bag seems a little better, but I haven't had much use for it yet. I was surprised when it came with a tiny padlock, but it isn't TSA-compliant. Overall, fine for cheap, and the color stands out nice.

Very nice for the purpose I chose
I bought this suitcase to transport my Mah Jong tiles and racks. I play Siamese Mah Jong which uses two sets of tiles and 4 racks. Tiles are heavy if carrying by hand. This suitcase easily accommodates the tiles and the racks which are 17" long. Many of the suitcases I looked at would not accommodate the racks. And the inside tiedowns keep everything from flying all over the place. The inner pocket is perfect for storing extra tiles, dice and shufflers. The two outer pockets are great for carrying my MJ card, phone, sunglasses, license, etc. So now I do not have to carry a purse as well as the suitcase when I go to play. I love the fact that it has 4 spinner wheels and a retractable handle. Appears to be of good quality and sturdy so far. Fits my needs perfectly even though not used in the traditional sense.

Very nice light-weight carry-on luggage!
I was looking for a light-weight carry-on suitcase for airplane travel. Based on the low price, I was skeptical that this bag would be any good at all, but I decided to give it try, knowing I could always return it if I didn't like it. Much to my surprise and delight, it was 3 pounds lighter than the one I'd been using - a huge plus! It handled very well in the airport and on the plane. All of the zippers worked well - and the inside was roomy. I especially liked that the inside metal pieces that were part of the handle were flat and spaced far enough apart that I could use the space between them efficiently. My only disappointment was in the Tote Bag. It was too small to replace my older backpack - and the handles were made of a cheap cardboard-type material - the kind of thing that bends and breaks down quickly, so I didn't even try to use it. Nevertheless, I am happy with this purchase. I also thought the large assortment of colors was a plus for families who need to able to identify bags easily.
