No warranty support by HP for faulty cartridges.
There’s no purpose in buying OEM products if they fail you even worse than third party options. I’ve been a loyal HP ink buyer as mileage per cartridge and overall pricing felt justified. Unfortunately, cartridges of my last resupply emptied faster than past ones and one of them is even entirely faulty. Once I try to put in a new Yellow cartridge, the printer throws up a message “One or more cartridges installed are genuine HP cartridges that have been used previously.” Not a good sign. After preparing the printer, it shows another error message “There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP.” It is clearly related to this cartridge as removing it, resolves the error, but unfortunately there is no support for it despite an alleged warranty of 12/2026 on the cartridge itself. Since the printer seems to be too old (8600 Pro) to be part of HP’s support database, my serial number cannot be found and thus I cannot contact support to request a replacement cartridge. This clearly is not the purpose of buying OEM products at a premium price. Highly disappointing and misleading warranty statements.

I bought this item on Amazon AU but it was delivered from USA. When I tried to install the replacement cartridges The printer would not accept them even though they were the correct type for the printer. With the help of HP we established there is geo blocking which we could not bypass even with the help of HP. Be aware there may be geo blocking for your location when buying this product.
