Really good. Except.....
This game is one of the best games for psp I have played. I am just talking about the game in whole. But you pick it apart and look at the details....and it becomes a different story. Everyone complains about this but the game length is probably 5-8 hours. It depends on how you play it. I made the game last because I went out of my way for stealth. It doesn't get too boring doing the stealth because there is so many different ways to do it. Everyone says there is no element of stealth, but that is not true. You just have to look for it. The AI in ACB are messed up in the head. There can be two guards standing watch over an opening and you can assassinate one of them without being noticed at all. Sometimes they even look at you when you do it. The combat can get a little dull at times, but you just have to switch it up. Instead of using the sword all the time, try the throwing knife. Or if combat is just too easy and you think you are a complete master at it, then try fighting 6 guards with just your hidden blade. See how good you are then. Just switch it up and you will have fun again. Running around the streets is not very effective unless you want every guard in the whole city after you. Well, at least at the beginning. 3/4 of the way through and you can actually run around the streets most of the time. Sometimes the guards get mad and chase you, but not often. The graphics are stunning for a psp game. They look like a good ps2 game graphics. I am impressed by them. This game is great. I would recommend it to anyone that likes these kind of games. 5 out of 5

Assassins Creed Bloodlines good game overall
I purchased this for my 15 year old son who has a PSP. In my sons words, this game does not deserve the M rating, as it is violent but there isn't a lot of blood. He thinks it should be rated T for Teen not M. The graphics are very good and the movement of Altair the Assassin is very fluid and smooth. The choice of weapons in the game are a sword, throwing knife, hidden blade, and a short blade. You can also use your fists to interrogate Templars. According to the Assassins Creed, you are not supposed to start fights or kill civilians, but you try to climb on rooftops and sneak around guards while trying to find Templar leaders. Overall, it is a fun game and my son would give a 4 our of 5 for lasting appeal.

Worthy of the title: Assassin's Creed
I have played Assassin's Creed on X-Box 360, but it is unfair to comapre this game to that one because of vast hardware differences and limitations so I will review this game based solely on its own merits. This is a fun game in its own rite. It is for the most part a sandbox style game. Meaning that you have a linear gamepath laid out in front of you but you have options as to when to continue. As you complete more in-game tasks you gain the ability to acquire more upgrades. I really like this game. The only issue that I have found so far is there are some clipping issues. Otherwise everything is smooth and fluid. I would lovve to see another Assassin's Creed on PSP.

Not all it's cracked up to be....
Well I purchased AC2 and that gave me a mean hankerin' for this game mainly from wanting to step back into the shoes of Altair and for the connected unlockables which are basically useless in the game. Sure they are nice looking weapons but if you already have all the final weapons you're never actually going to use any of these things. It give you a bit of coin also based on the tokens you've collected in Bloodlines, but by the time I got it I had 96% of the trophies unlocked and over 500k in Florins so the whole 8000f I get from syncing really does nothing for me. There is also no upside for the Bloodlines side of it, I was expecting at least an alternate Ezio costume or perhaps even the Armor of Altair which is unlockable in AC2, something. Oh well, it's still a pretty neat feature, I suppose even more so if you play and beat this game before starting AC2 I imagine the weapons would be much more useful that way it does however make your weapons room that much more full. Okay a bit about the game it's self, this is what I imagine Assassin's Creed would have looked like if it were ported to PS2 and if the game developers had given any thought to the boring repetition of the original game. It is pretty impressive looking and is only second to God of War Chains of Olympus as far as PSP platforming goes, the camera controls are not as bad as everyone makes them out to be, the problem is really that the scaling surfaces are not really well thought out, in both console versions of this game you could get up almost any building by just wiggling the thumb stick in the up direction and Altair/Ezio generally find their own path. In this game however you usually get stuck and there's no way up requiring you to drop down and look for another way up which is pretty annoying. For being a game that released at $40 and is now currently retailing for $30 I would have expected it to be a bit more polished, the game glitches quite often causing Altair and often times enemies to become lost in a wall which usually leads to an instant death or possibly actually falling through the map to his demise. This gets seriously aggravating. The fights are heinously repetitive and yes they did have an MGS style intruder alert in the Third Crusade, which is the only explanation I can come up with as for why accidentally starting a fight with one guard leads to a seemingly endless swarm coming from every corner of the map. You would think this would make for a fun action experience but mostly you can just spam the throwing knife and lay them all to waste as they run up, and if you can't pull that off then you have to go through the tedious motions of countering endless and slow attacks and watching the same animations for five minutes or so. Guards also randomly spawn over and over so sometimes fights can take even longer. The missions and game it's self are pretty fun, there are some sidequests to do if you so desire but mostly your instinct is to just hammer through the game because the sidequests usually lead to some massive endless swarm of guards and usually you're at the end of a memory black before you even realize it so why not kill the boss and just move on. The visuals are pretty decent but once again pale compared to GOW's PSP iteration the birds eye syncing operation is kinda pointless because each area is very small and pretty bland compared to the types you get in the console games which is kind of a let down. The story does a pretty decent job of filling in the gaps in AC2, Altair writes some of the codex pages you acquire in the sequel. The voice acting, however is god awful and almost a chore to listen to. I'm at the last memory block and they have yet leave the Animus and I strongly doubt that they will. The upgrading system is nice and it's not such a pain to leave the game and do an upgrade since it pretty much sets you back exactly where you were before you exited. Overall, this is a very decent game but in no way the best game for PSP, I would suggest only people who are huge fans and I really don't think it's worth the list price. I purchased mine used for $14 with no case or booklet but it's not like those are in anyway useful to someone familiar with a PSP or the AC series.

Awesome game!
This game was very fin and very addicting! Once I started playing, I could not put it down. I wasn't expecting it to be that great since it is a PSP game, but I was completely wrong. There is somewhat free roam just in the town which I had fun just walking around and messing with the soldiers. The only con with this game is that it is short. I probably beat this game in about 6-8 hours. However, the game was still extremely fun.

Good game
Purchased this as it was supposed to be the connection between Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2, but so far I'm not seeing it. I guess when I play the Assassin's Creed 2 (PC version) in March 2010 I'll see if it connects. Counter kills are pretty decent, but the soldier awareness is too over-rated! If you walk by a soldier they automatically draw their sword and if you keep standing beside them they attack. This makes it very annoying most of the time, but guess because it's for a hand held they needed to design it like that. Think they should have made MORE side missions. Assassin's Creed (PC) was very detailed in that category. Playing it for a second time now because it's such a great game! Bloodlines could have been WAY better! Can't wait for March to come so I can get Assassin's Creed 2! :-)

Get another piece of the Assassin puzzle!
Assassins Creed Bloodlines is a great little held title, although graphically limited due to the PSP hardware, it does deliver a fairly decent Assassins Creed experience. The game is short even if you try to get/unlock all the secrets, but if you need your Assassin Creed fix and you have a PSP laying around, hook it up! This game also fills the gap between Assassins Creed 1 and 2, and tells of what Altair did after the events of Assassins Creed 1. Additionally, any items and gold you find in this game can be linked to the PS3 version of Assassins Creed 2 and can be accessed in the Villa's armoury which will allow you to start Assassins Creed 2 with a slightly better set of weapons and spending money than starting at zero.
