Brass Fish Scaler L

This descaler is sturdy, easy to hold and works great to de-scale salmon. Gets the job done fast. Very well made. Glad I finally got one of these. Haven't tried it on other fish but works perfectly on salmon. I love gadget's that make food prep easier and faster. This is one of them. Worth every penny.

You go to your fish monger, buy the fish, “please clean for me “. And then you eat the fish and end up pulling all these scales out of your mouth. Now we use this when we get home. Awesome scaler! Now bones, no scales. Life is better.

I've been buying frozen salmon skin-on fillets from Amazon Fresh, but they come with the scales still attached. Before buying this, I just used a knife and my fingers to try to get the scales off. It was a time-consuming, messy ordeal. I'd find scales stuck to the floor days later. Admittedly, I could have done more to prevent the scales from flying. But once I got this scaler, it was incredibly quick and easy to get the scales off. I still needed to use my fingers to get the scales on the edge. But again, this is a fillet and not a whole fish. It's hard to get the edge scales without damaging the flesh. The scales that are removed get mostly trapped in the slits in the scaler, which easily gets washed off when washing. Overall, super effective, practical, and sturdy. If I ever need to buy another one, on the off chance that mine breaks, I'll be getting this one again.

Appears to be solid brass casting. Super sharp, very effective in removing scales, almost effortlessly, without applying any pressure due to the weight of the brass scaler head - best to glide over fish from tail to head in an opposite direction from which the scales grow on the fish. Easy on the wrist, hand and arm. It does not tear the skin or flesh. Almost PERFECT - except the handle could have been made from a more durable and heavy wood - DO NOT SOAK entire fish scaler in a bucket - wash rinse and allow to dry between uses. I believe if I care for this scaler in this manner it will last a lifetime. Thank-you Yamasho, Kanpai Trading and Amazon for a great product at a reasonable price.

I usually have my fish scaled before I purchased it but forget to tell the butcher to scale it . When I got home I realized the work needed to be done on the red snappers. I have used knives years before and had scales all over my nice kitchen. I purchased two scalers after reading reviews . One review person said he put his fish in a bag, layed it flat and scaled the fish. I tried the same method( took a kitchen bag) layed the fish in it to prevent scales from flying all over my kitchen . Some scales escaped before I really got the hang of it. It worked beautifully using this scaler and cleaned the two large fish in just a few minutes. The other scaler I tried did not work as well as this one. Glad I purchased it . It is sturdy and well made

I had never used a dedicated fish scaler before. My mom taught me to use a regular butter knife for that purpose and that's exactly what I did for more than 60 years. So I figured, what the heck - the price is good and I wonder if this will work. I purchased the fish scaler because of the reasonably low price and the first fish I tested it on was a large whole snapper. Wow;.this scaler was awesome. The snapper had pretty large scales that were absolutely no problem for this scaler. To keep the scales from flying everywhere, I put the fish inside a large paper kitchen bag laid sideways and then reached in with my hands to use the tool on the fish. A little awkward, but I didn't get scales all over my kitchen counter. This is a great tool and I plan on getting a few more.

Worked better than I expected

You can’t eat this product. I looked high and low on Amazon and read all the reviews. This seller sells it at the lowest price too, so I highly reccomend this. Very pleased with how fast, easy it is to remove the scales. Small but very effective. Don’t hesitate to buy this you’ll love this tool.

Ich habe den Fischschuppenentferner noch nicht ausprobiert, aber so wie viele japanischen Produkte hat er eine sehr edle Optik und scheint sehr hochwertig zu sein. Ich gehe davon aus, dass es ein Produkt ist, dass man den Rest seines Lebens benutzen kann. Nichts für Menschen die alles in die Spülmaschine stecken müssen. Zum Großteil aus natürlich Materialien (Messing Guss, Holzgriff) gefertigt und er fühlt sich gut in der Hand an und sieht edel aus.
