Excellent introductory manual on Hadith Sciences. Ideally should be studied formally but the text is simple enough that it can be read on your own.

Very good book in the series of the introduction of Islamic sciences. It covers all the relevant topic in the sciences 9f Ahadith and give a good detailed understandings of the topic

For a very brief introduction to Hadith studies, it gives a good grasp of essential information to further study past this book. Don’t expect to get deep into content of the Hadith though, this is more so information about how to study them, not so much what they are. Very easy read and well organized. It is good for what it was designed to do. I was hoping for more content about Hadith, but I understand the scope of this is not what this text was attempting to do. Therefore my study continues! ;)

A treasure for every Hadith sciences Student. Every chapter in the text is covered comprehensively, the examples of the different types of Hadith (the chain) are very well placed in a flowchart to better understand. A very useful and a must have for every student of knowledge wanting to specialize in hadith studies and I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Wishing Shaykh Furhan the very best for many more publications.

This book is very well written and really tackles on the introduction of hadith studies, introducing the different types of Hadith, the grades, and the compilers/authors. A lot is packed into the book, but it’s still a concise read. Another highly recommended by Shaykh Furhan.

The headline says it all. You will not find a better introduction to the study of Hadith literature in the English language. This book is concise, well cited, and written in a way that always the reader to follow along without being confused by terminology. Anyone who understands this textbook will have a solid grasp of the foundations of Hadith studies.

Wow, mā-shāʾ-Allāh tabārak-Allāh subḥan-Allāh This book is amazing. It's clear, easy to read and understand, and gives you a taste of the indepth nature of Ḥadīth, and incredible amount of work that scholars have put into it. It covers all major sections, explains easy and difficult concepts, has beautiful diagrams, and serves as a fantastic primer. As always, these books should be read with a teacher, but this is still a great step before diving into the classical Arabic texts. Amazing book. 💯 recommend.

I much enjoyed reading this clear and easy to read overview of Hadith studies. I was amazed at the enormous efforts and extreme attention to detail of the early gatherers of the Hadith, especially with regard to the filtering process. With this age’s rise of Quranists and Hadith & Sunnah doubters, this is a very informative piece of work that clarifies a lot of misconceptions about the Hadith and it’s essential place in Islamic Creed, Shariah, as well as simply influencing a Muslim’s everyday life.

I have finished reading this one. A good starter for someone who wishes to gain basic knowledge of science of hadees. It expplaines in a simple n beatiful way the different gradings of hadees, how these were collected at various times over centuries. I do believe there should be another book 2 with further details with more knowledge. Appreciate the efforts of the writer. Great job. Jazaka ALLAH khair
