I used this mask today while I was completing a project on my truck that involved wiping the bed down multiple times with xylene (an industrial strength solvent used for removing polymers). Needless to say the fumes are quite noxious and like many other solvents xylene is quite volatile (i.e. it has a low boiling point which makes it go airborne and you smell the fumes). The MSDS stated that unless the xylene was to be diluted (which it is for most applications, this NOT BEING one of them), then no breathing protection was required however if it was not diluted than it was required. I wore it outside today for 4 hours while I wiped down the bed of my truck over and over again with xylene and here are the findings: -I could still smell the fumes -The smell did not cause me to become light headed nor did I get a head ache -I could not taste the fumes The above three reasons leads me to believe that the mask did its job. Some notable qualities: -The intake valve (as it states) does indeed bring in COOL air -The mask was quite comfortable -The mask stayed in place and did not move (after of course I fitted it to my face with the pre-installed adjustable nose piece) -The two strap system was quite nice and offered what I believe to be more stability than similar masks with only one So all in all the mask did its job and I didn't lose any brain cells that weren't already going to go so I gave it 5/5 stars.

I repaint dolls alot and I use this when I putting on the base coats. It is easy to wear, easy to adjust. It gets a little warm, but I don't like having anything on my face so it is not an issue. It works fairly well for the chemicals I'd say. I decided to try an experiment and changed my cat's litter box while wearing it. I could still smell the litter, but I didn't feel the need to cough up a lung( dust free litter is a lie).

I was using standard masks for cutting the lawn. This one really stays put and feels good. Better quality and less irritation from grass, pollen and dust!

These worked great when I was sanding drywall joint compound and later when painting. Could not have done the job without them!

Got these when working in a lab where we had to work with chemicals and the company did not have a proper fume hood for the volatile chemicals we were near/inhaling. These worked great to keep the smell at bay and luckily I didn’t get any side effects from inhaling Xylitol. While they’re not made for that specific chemical, it helped again with not feeling dizzy and fuzzy brained after smelling it for an entire shift

This past spring, I repainted several pieces of decorative metal garden furniture and plant stands. Wanted to prevent breathing in the fumes as those fumes can be quite harmful to lung health and one's health in general. This is a good quality and fairly lightweight non-cumbersome mask that was excellent for that purpose. Medical/surgical masks aren't designed for spray paint work as they are much thinner and don't provide the degree of protection as these masks do, so I'd suggest using something like this 3M product to protect your health and also avoid the awful smell of spray paint from aerosol paint cans. I also recommend making sure the wind is carrying the fumes and overspray away from you as well as doing your spray painting outdoors with a lot of open space around you to help reduce toxin exposure. Would definitely recommend this product.

I hate to admit to it, but I actually purchased this to clean up the cat litter box. I love my cat, even though he is an evil mastermind plotting to take over the world with very stinky poop and pee. He uses the litter box like it's the last day he will ever have a litter box (wish I could train the little dude to go in the toilet like on those funny cat videos you see on Youtube). Anyway, on to the point... I unfortunately have a sickly gag reflex everytime I clean the litter box and it did not matter what kinds of litter I used or if I used a deodizer or not, somehow the horrendous smell would somehow find a way to invade my nostrils and kill me slowly. So! The idea of having some form of a gas mask popped one day and I found this little guy made by the angels of 3M. It is just incredible! I could unknowingly sit beside the litter box all day and I won't smell even the tiniest hint of it! Highly recommend a purchase for any kind anti-odor benefit you are trying to get. It has a little adjustable part that wraps around your very unique and special nose so the seal is airtight to keep any odor out. Would recommend if you have a litter box, stinky kids, hate the smell of chlorine, don't want to die of chemical intoxication, of course any kind of heavy duty industrial odors, for a trip to China, and to feel comfort in the stinkiest places. However, I would not recommend using this to battle dragons.
