Review: Greatest deck cooking system ever - This is an incredible deck cooking machine. When my old grill was getting to the last of it's economic life, and I was to either rebuild the burners etc. or buy a new one, I realized that my style of cooking had changed/evolved over the years. My preference now is more towards vegetables and fish instead of steaks, burgers, and dogs. I thought I was going to have to build something, but did a search online to make sure I wasn't re-invening the wheel. This griddle, no not a grill, came up on desertcart for $269 including shipping. Assembly was right at 1 hour, including trying to find live batteries for it. My whole family loves this thing. We have done Japanese steak house, turkey burgers, tuna steaks, salmon. It's great to be able to cook up finely chopped veggies, then add steamed brown rice, and do fried rice on the griddle. I have not found anybody in the area that has ever seen or heard of these. So, it's pretty novel. Photos of the griddle with multiple items cooking are now all over facebook thanks to my wife. The steel top by itself is heavier than any grill I have ever owned. It is truly a heavy duty machine. You will need to buy a cover for it if you keep yours outside. It will rust if left in the rain. I am so impressed with this, that I am fixing up my deck to entertain. I am buying an indoor/outdoor carpet to go over the entire old pressure treated planks, 12'*32', and a 6 person table and chairs from Lowes. The best burgers, turkey, I have ever cooked have come off of this. I can get a nice brown crust, and keep the burgers moist. No more flare ups, no more char. no more dried out burgers. Mixed veggies stir fry is my favorite though. We make huge amounts of turkey burgers, veggies, and fried rice, so we have left overs all week, cooked outside without heating up the house. And, with fish, the best way to cook, and without stinking up the house since it's done outside. I was thinking I may pick up a small grill to have on the deck, but the more I use the griddle, the less attractive that is. I had heard that the best steaks are prepared in a skillet super hot. But, I haven't tried steaks or dogs yet. If the picture comes through, what you are seeing is 2 lbs of turkey burgers, and 1 lb of ground turkey mixed with veggies. After cooling down to low, Added to this will be 10 whipped eggs, then once all cooked, it will be spread out, and topped with shredded cheese til it melts.
Review: Love it! - Wow wow wow. I freaking ADORE this thing! My husband and I have both wanted a good griddle indoors, this is the next best thing. And it's seriously huge. I wanted it partially to take to our family reunion. He took it on a scouting trip and was able to cook all the food the entire trip in a fraction of the time those smaller camp stoves work. We plan on cooking massive amounts of pancakes on it for a 4th of July breakfast in a couple of weeks.Seasoning the surface is simple and there are instructions provided in the included manual as well. This gets very hot, very fast. I love that there are 4 heating elements that are the depth of the cooking surface. You can create different temperature zones to keep some food warning while you cook the rest. There aren't any very noticible hot spots either, which is something that has always frustrated me with griddles that sit on top of burners. Clean up is simple. I use a squeeze bottle with plain water in it to loosen up and stuck on particles. then scrape off what's needed. Rub with a bit of oil to protect your seasoning and let cool. The men at Scout camp had serious griddle envy. The only problem is a common one, the regulator that's included is a serious piece of junk. We used it several times before we ran into a problem, the company was prompt in sending us a replacement, but I wonder if the quality on that one will be any better and plan on ordering a different one just in case. The removable shelves are very light weight, but are still functionable. I would recommend a sturdy table if you have anything very heavy you need to set down. My husband also used some thin sheets of metal and make a wind break for the section between the griddle and the base where the high winds around here can cut the effectiveness of the heat down. I would also like to make a carry bag for it. there is a bag you can buy for the griddle, but not for the base . We are both very very pleased with it, especially for the price. It's a bit spendy, but we'll worth it when your far from the comforts of home.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: We will be using the griddle for camping, does anyone know if it folds up or is built to be moved place to place.**
A: I purchased one in 2009. I gave it away to my neighbor in Dec '22. 13 years of service, I used it for event service and private family camping outings. The griddle is heavy and awkward but with myself and one of my sons it was easy enough to move, we had a pick up with the camper. Under normal circumstances it's best left in place but the griddle comes off easy enough AND any surface cooking you need it's hot you! Steaks, burgers, chicken, stir fry & veggies, pancakes, sausage, EVERYTHING. Lol
Awkward, heavy but worth the effort if you have the room a little help or just rugged enough to muscle the 50lb griddle

**Q: Is the top pre-seasoned? I'm trying to figure out why the price difference between the blackstone and Camp Chef?**
A: No it is not pre-Seasoned, upon receipt you will need to wash the Griddle surface, than lightly oil turn on burners and let it reach 275 degrees and the the oil smoke off than let it cool all the way back to ambient temperature than do the proceed over again 2 times.

**Q: When i use my grill sometimes i'll turn off the burners then back on. sometimes they turn on very low. anyone else?**
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Our griddles have a safety feature with the regulators. If the propane was not turned off completely or in the exact steps, the regulator will prevent much gas flow from going through the regulator the next time. I have noticed that our recent batch of regulators are more sensitive than they have been in the past. You might try turning removing the propane tank and then reattaching it. This should reset the regulator from the above mentioned safety feature. Also, there are air gates at the front of each burner that can be adjusted to your preference. They control the air to gas ratio. There is a small silver screw at the front of the burner tube that you can loosen and then you can slide the gate more open or closed depending on your preference. We typically have the air gates half closed or even 3/4 of the way closed. I hope this helps. If you would like a picture of the air gate instructions or anything else you can our customer service at 435-252-3030 x 1 or email support@blackstoneproducts.com. Thank you! Venessa

**Q: I need to know the height?**
A: Floor to the highest part on the back of mine is 36.25 inches.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Grill we EVER bought hands down!
*by C***M on September 14, 2016*

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this gas griddle! We were shopping for a new grill since our old one litterly rusted out at Lowes. I saw this same model at at the store and thought it would be interesting to have a flat top. Went home, read some reviews and looked up some YouTube videos on people cooking on it and you can cook anything on this thing! It's easy to clean and one thing I hated with our regular gas grill was the meats (hamburgers, pork, chicken, etc) would stick and fall apart on the grill. On this flat top we have not had anything stick to it. It's wonderful. We have made: chicken cheese steaks (husbands favorite), hamburgers (you get a nice sear on each side), steak, chicken, boneless pork ribs, chicken drumsticks, stir fry, fries, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, fried green beans, eggs, has browns, pancakes, paninis, Chinese pot stickers, naan or flatbread pizza... The list goes on. We make sure to oil up the griddle after each use and cover it. We just bought a regular grill cover and it fits just fine. Only complaints: others have said this but it's true the oil run off pan doesn't sit directly under the hold to catch it so I get an oil spill on my deck. It's a pain they really need to correct that. The other complaint I have is the handles on each side and above where the flat (not sure what you would call it) counter? Where you can put items. Therefore you can't hang anything off of them like untencils, etc. This griddle gets super hot! It really makes you feel like your in a short order kitchen so the exit heat vents are over the side counters on both sides. Therefore I have melted spices placed there and burnt myself on spatulas I let resting there. It makes the area on both sides unusable. So I use the railing behind the grill from my deck to place items I'm using to cook with. Overall, this grill can do anything you want and it's one easy clean up. I like the 4 burners and have multiple things cooking for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the same time. It has plenty of room. I also will turn off an end burner and just have food warm while I'm waiting for other food to finish cooking. It's convenient to have all the space.
