Melissa & Doug Mine to Love Jenna 12" Soft Body Baby Doll with Romper, Hat

Little Jenna is the perfect size for her new 1yo momma on her 1st birthday. She has a pretty face, sweet appearance, and soft cuddly body. She was the devil to get because Amazon is struggling to pull orders together right now, but that’s an Amazon issue not Melissa and Doug product issue. My biggest complaint with little Jenna is her lazy eye, which makes her slightly creepy to me. I would have requested an exchange, but Amazon has put us in a bind by delivering our original order to the wrong address (now lost somewhere out in never never land) and then our subsequent orderSSS didn’t get delivered on time as promised. I’m hoping her new momma won’t be put off by the lazy eye problem. Somewhat disappointed, but overall she is great quality and perfect for a first baby doll. UPDATE: Of all the gifts and baby dolls our little grand received at her party, she was instantly attached and enamored with this one. I highly recommend her for little hands.

I gave this doll to my daughter on her first birthday. I picked it because I wanted a doll that was simple and soft, yet realistic and had eyes that open and close. I wasn't too sure that I would like it's size... and sure enough a 12" is pretty small. But for the size of my one-year-old it turned out to be perfect. If she were any bigger, than it would be hard for my little girl to hang on to her, especially with one hand. My daughter responded so cute to this gift. She started kissing this doll and hugging her tight and patting her. I love the smell of this scented doll, as well. I know others were turned off by her scent, but to me it just smells like baby powder-ish and is actually one of my favorite things about this doll. Another thing I love about this choice is her outfit. So many baby dolls come in cheap ugly clothing, but this one comes in a quality-made and adorable little sleeper and hat. When the outfit got dirty, I threw it in the wash and it came out great. (I didn't dry it, because I didn't know if it would shrink.) My daughter loves to pull the little hat off and then try to put it back on. Another plus: The soft body of this doll is peachy-colored to look like skin tones instead of just plain white. The features are just cute. She "sucks" her thumb... a favorite option or her pacifer (not crazy about that feature... especially since my daughter wanted to suck on it, too and it fit ALL the way in her mouth... so that was just put away until she's old enough to understand not to do that). This doll doesn't have any hair that tangles or any electronics, just gorgeous blue eyes, beautiful and sturdy eyelashes, cute toes and enough sweetness to win any girl's heart. I would recommend completely as long as you put up the pacifier, don't mind a scented doll and are happy with a bit smaller size than the average doll. Thank you for reading my review. Short version: As good as the American Girl baby doll, but is a much better size for the very young. Long version: Cons: None. Pros: Great, lifelike face. Some have big eyes that we think are cute, but that scare babies because their instincts recognize that there is something wrong - the proportions aren’t right. Soft, cuddly body. Hard plastic bodies are rigid, making snuggling difficult, & don’t have the softness of a baby. This soft body makes the doll just slightly flopsy, which brings out the maternal instincts in a little girl (& I assume, the paternal instincts in a little boy) because it seems more like a helpless baby. Lift her up or turn her over & she isn’t rigid. My almost 7-yr-old granddaughter has many dolls that she likes a lot, but the one she has similar to this (which is no longer for sale) is her favorite because it feels more like a real baby than the others do. Eyes that open & close. Greatly enhances pretending it’s asleep or awake. More lifelike. Babies absolutely love opening & closing those eyelids with their little fingers, & it’s good for dexterity practice. Arms & legs (like the face) are easy to clean, & because of the contrast in material between them & the body, the limbs will at times flop a little, making the baby more lifelike. Perfect size. Not long ago I discovered the American Girl baby doll. I came close to buying it because it meets all the above criteria, but it’s a little too big for a 1-yr-old. This doll is 2 inches shorter & is the perfect size for rocking, cuddling, carrying. Clothes. Well made, soft, cute. The sleeper is a cuddlier look than other outfits, so is what I choose first for little girl’s dolls (if I have a choice), adding other clothes when they are almost old enough to change their own doll’s clothes. Mouth. Cute that it’s thumb or it’s pacifier can stay in its mouth. The open mouth also makes feeding it a bottle more enjoyable because the tip of the bottle wedges a little in the mouth instead of just sliding right off the doll's face. This wasn't on my list of criteria, but I'm so pleased with it. Price. I payed about $20 & consider it a great deal since it has the same features as the expensive American Girl doll & is a better size. Sometime after Black Friday weekend was over (2015), it was selling for about $13 for a little while. Cons: None

I thought the doll was really cute and just the right size for my granddaughter. I did not like the weighted objects in the bottom to help keep the doll upright. If it gets a tear in the outer layer, I am afraid the child could eat it and choke. So I gave it to a charity event with a warning to have it given to a child over 3.

Bought this doll for my one-year old granddaughter. She loves her. She sleeps with her “baby” every nap and at night. The doll’s body is soft. The vinyl head, legs, and arms are proportioned nicely. The eyes open and close. The arm is small enough that my granddaughter can get a grip on it to take her wherever she goes. I actually bought another doll just like this one to keep at my house for her. The Melissa and Doug items that I have purchased have always been high quality and very much loved by our children. Highly recommend this doll.

My daughter has really been getting into baby dolls. I was shocked that so many of the dolls I had purchased from online or in the store were such poor quality. They usually all had on the same hideous outift and were not all made of the same material..the head would be more rubber and then the arms and legs would be cheap plastic! I bought this doll in hopes that it would be something nicer for her to carry around and I was very pleased. Not only is the material great but the outfit and hat the doll is wearing are also of great quality. It is a little bit heavier then the cheap dolls so she sometimes has a hard time carrying it around everywhere..but she will grow into it. Oh and did i mention her eyes open and close when you lay her back and sit her up!! If you want to buy a doll that you would be proud to give as a gift then look no further!! I also am looking into purchasing the food and bottles that can be used with the doll and are also Melissa & Doug brand. This doll is super cute and I am so very pleased with the quality!! Great product!!

We bought this for our daughter for her first birthday; she’s five now and still usually chooses her “special baby” over the other dolls and toys she’s amassed. We are actually on baby number two because one was the victim of our puppy about a year in; I’m so glad they still make her! She’s held up great, and is a win for sure. 💕

I got “Baby Jenna” for my daughter for her 3rd birthday. It was love at first sight! That was over a year ago and out of all the dolls she has now (probably 10) it’s still her favorite doll! It’s the sweetest, softest little doll! My daughter takes her EVERYWHERE and sleeps with her every night. It is smaller than most dolls, but it’s the perfect size for little hands (1 to 6 year-olds). She can suck her thumb (right thumb only) which is perfect because my daughter sucks her thumb. She came with a pacifier, too, that stays put in her mouth after you put it in. She also came with a diaper that my daughter loves to take off and on. Her pretty blue eyes close when she lays down. I love Melissa & Doug toys and this is by far my favorite! My only complaint is that her little hat doesn’t stay on very long-it falls off easily. Also, after a year her outfit has gotten just a little ragged (but not falling apart) and it’s hard to find other clothes that fit her. I also got the “Melissa & Doug Doll Feeding and Changing Accessories - Bib, Bag, Diaper, Wipes, Utensils, Bottles”. Those items are great for this doll. We also have a stroller and a shopping cart she likes to push her around in. All in all, this is the perfect little doll for a young child! You’ll love it too!

I think it’s just the perfect size for a two or three year old. Looks cute and cuddly.

My daughter loved it

Finally it took me a long time to find a baby doll like the good old days. I went to stores and all I could find was rather ugly bright weird looking dollies not what I had in mind. I went to Amazon and found just what I wanted a baby doll that looks like a real baby and eyes open and close and even fits a soother. My niece loved it! She can also change clothes their not sewn on. Great buy!

Purchased as a Christmas gift for my 14 month old daughter (a long with the pintoy wooden pram - which is also fab! Lovely size for my little one. Well made and looks lovely. Eyes open and close. And my Daughter has recently discovered she can take hat and clothes of it. The clothes are really cute. We also purchased the bib and bottle set from M & D. My daughter enjoys giving baby her milk- bottle fits into babies slightly open mouth. The doll comes with a dummy to use but we have not given her that yet as it is quite small and I fear my daughter may put it in her mouth. Will give her the dummy to use in a few months time. Very happy with our purchase. Lovely gift for a little girl.
