Polski, krok po kroku will immerse you in the Polish environment and you will have no choice but to use Polish all the time, in all types of everyday situations. Together with a group of friends from different countries you will live in Krakow the most popular city in Poland, a seat of learning, a city of magnificent monuments, rich cultural life and unforgettable atmosphere. You will quickly discover that this is the place for studying Polish and an ideal location for exceptional holidays. Together you will not only learn the language, but also go shopping, eat in restaurants, cook, visit interesting places and discover Polish culture. Living with a Polish family, you will have the chance to experience Polish hospitality and become familiar with Polish customs. Experienced and enthusiastic teachers, who treat their work as a genuine passion, will show you the ins and outs of the Polish language. Polski, krok po kroku is written only in Polish, as this method of presenting a new language brings the best results. It leads students into the language system in a natural way and from the very start encourages you to speak in Polish. As this handbook constitutes a part of a larger interactive course in Polish, available at e-polish.eu , it can equally be used for studying on your own. The website includes comments in different languages and a multimedia dictionary, which allows you to learn without the help of teachers. Next to each exercise in the handbook there is a number which helps you to find the exercise in the Internet course and check the answers, listen to the recordings or do alternative exercises that will help in consolidating the material or explaining any doubts you may have. A special memorisation system shortens the time necessary for learning new words and phrases. Thanks to the large number of illustrations and audio materials, learning comes naturally as it does with children, who acquire their mother tongue by observing the world and listening to the sounds that surround them. Review: LOVE this book! - I have purchased multiple Polish books attempting to "relearn" the Polish I understood as a child. This is by far the best book I have used. I do take classes at a Polish Alliance and always hated the books we used. Due to COVID I have been taking an on-line course through another Polish Society and this is the book the instructor uses. This book is the closest to the way I learned a foreign language in high school. PROS: - when the book is purchased, you are able to download an on-line version of the book - the on-line version is exactly what is in the book - the on-line version has audio. Each dialoag, etc. can be listened to. On the side of each dialog is a list of "new" vocabulary and phrases which give you the meaning and audio pronunciation. You can listen as many times as you need to. - the on-line version allows you to do the exercises and you are able to check your answers. If you come across something you just cannot figure out, you hit "show" and it will give you the correct answer. - the dialogs are spoken "slowly" to enable one to hear the pronunciation - the on-line version has a dictionary that conjugates all verbs, adjectives, adverbs in all cases as well as list masculine/feminine forms of nouns - you are able to purchase additional help but I would just buy the workbook that goes with this "textbook". It reinforces the work and is actually a bit more difficult than the exercises from the textbook. - should you want lessons with an an actual Polish tutor (in Poland), there is a list of them, along with their bios. I have not done it, but I do know someone that has and it has been a great benefit. Cons: - the book is ALL polish. If you are not using in a class, you MUST be prepared to look up words and do additional research for anything you might not understand. Unfortunately, there is pain in learning a new language. Do not think this book will make you fluent without putting in the time. Review: Good pace; LOTS of interactive content - Qualifications: I studied linguistics at university and have studied ~10 languages (most for at least a couple years; some up to fluency), so I'm familiar with the process of language learning. This is a pretty solid textbook, but where it really stands out — especially if you're self-studying and don't have a teacher or someone to model pronunciation for you — is all the online content. Each book comes with a code to access their website, where there are audio dialogs and exercises; you can click on basically any word and a definition pops up; and all the coursebook and workbook exercises are available interactively, so the website will tell you if your answers are correct. (This is especially helpful when I _think_ I've spelled something correctly, but the site tells me I'm wrong, and after examining it several times I realize I missed a diacritic, or swapped a "ć" for a "cz".) All the fancy interactive features do mean the site sometimes runs slow, but overall I find it a really useful companion to the book. The book itself goes at a good pace, mixing in words you don't know yet (e.g. in a dialogue at the beginning of a new chapter) often enough to help you get used to understanding the general gist of a conversation even if you don't understand every single word (an inescapable fact of trying to use any new language in the wild!), but not so often that you get frustrated. There's a good mix of vocabulary, grammar, and some cultural elements. I would recommend this book.

Very good
I am learning Polish and these books are written well . Set up as lessons and contain a lot of valuable information. I have two lesson book volumes and one workbook. 4.8

Would recommend . . .
Well done! Learning a lot over the past four weeks! Pages are just difficult to write on when doing the written exercises because they are coated. Sometimes, though, you definitely need someone to explain a few of the concepts in your own language.

Incredible! e-course book is important, though
I’m fluent in Polish and my husband is learning the language. He started with Babbel and took a few virtual private lessons. I ordered him this book which he threw in the trash after ten minutes of trying to use it. Needless to say, he needed a little bit of patience and guidance. I guided him through one lesson using the e-course book that comes with the physical book. Yes, it’s immersive. There’s not many translations. But he LOVES it now, and spends at least an hour every night going through the course. This book isn’t really suitable for a beginner on its own, unless you’re guided by a teacher, but it’s absolutely fabulous with the e-course book once you get the hang of it. There’s a learning curve, but once you understand the logic, it’s great. Reminds me of when I took French in high school.

Immersive learning tool
Love this book and I honestly don’t get the negative reviews on this but everyone learns differently I guess! If you are looking for an immersive learning experience (as immersive as you can get with a book) this is a great tool! Would highly recommend.

I don't think this would be good for absolute beginners
I don't think this would be good for absolute beginners. I have gone through the Pimsleur Polish CD and this seems like a good next step for learning.

Odd and Difficult way of learning a language
The purchase of a new book allows you to register for the e book site for an undetermined period of time. The book is entirely written in Polish. Without the online course with teacher in Poland, forget it! With an online teacher, the content is difficult to navigate as the material is printed in what seems a helter skelter manner. The e book allows you to hear words pronounced and that's a plus, as is its level of interactivity with a teacher, but the layout is confusing. You must pay additional for content that is not included when you purchase the book or is difficult to locate in it . It is impossible to download certain grammatical tables, for example. I feel cheated without that, having paid for the book. Instructions for the review exercises are in Polish and use words that are not included in the vocabulary list. Some of the exercises in the print book are slightly different from the e book version. Visual exercises don't always use examples that make your word choice clear when asked to describe what you see. Content is geared toward high school or college age students, not mature adults. Even with a good teacher, you'll still face needless challenges. This book was published so that persons from several language backgrounds could learn Polish. Good for the authors and publisher. Not in the best interest of the student. A traditional textbook would suit me better. I don't understand the rave reviews! Have they really worked through the book? Have they come to it with no prior knowledge of Polish? This book very much seems like a self-published effort, with the accompanying weakness of inadequate review by outside experts.

Lo necesario para el idioma
Un método muy completo para aprender el idioma, pero es necesario adquirir también el libro de ejercicios. Incluye acceso a la página web del curso lo cual complementa el material. Todo el libro está en polaco por lo cual se necesita un traductor.

Great book
This is an excellent course. The online version, which you can access using the key given in the leaflet inside the CD sleeve, is particularly suitable for self-study, because it gives you translations in English for words as well as the instructions. However you'll also need a good grammar, written in English, or even better a tutor (you can get cheap skype lessons from qualified tutors on some language learning websites). I particularly love the online version, it works very well on my tablet as well, and it's well laid out. You also have access to some additional exercises, most are blocked because you'd have to pay extra, but quite a few are accessible. I would highly recommend this book, particularly use with a tutor (that's how I found out about it, my tutor uses it for her lessons, and I supplement it with self study using the additional online exercises).
